COVER LETTER
I am a fast learner, problem solver, capable of detailed work -- as exemplified by bridging the post production team in the subtitling, revision for editing clients' videos, whether it was a wedding that required personal emotional touch or commercial work that required exactness. Communication and multilingualism are my strengths. In addition, from 2 decades of customer service experience, and dealing with creative people plus the neuroticism of clients from middle to high income groups, have taught me many social and people handling skills.
Marketing, sales and public relations including interfacing with print and magazine exposure were all part of my responsibilities. In running my own business in the service industry, in retrospect I have inculcated grit and resilience in overcoming difficulties. I have been able to come up with creative solutions, and also realize a fast-paced environment supports my productivity.
I am not easily discouraged to learn new fields, as exemplified by I working in fields that are not directly related to my field of study. In recent years I learnt from scratch how to setup my second line of photography-videography brand, using social media outlets. I manned the Instagram accounts and dabbled in Pinterest, as well as setup a service website : www.timelessvideophotography.com. In essence, although I am in my 40s I continue to be an active learner and is not easily intimidated by technical knowledge. Starting my employment with AC Nielsen Indonesia, I have become comfortable with presentation in large groups as a speaker. I am adept to explain to prospective clients our most complex services, such as when the company upgraded its equipment, shooting wedding videography on the 4K system. I can negotiate and profile customers quite well due to my years of experience. On the supervisory role, I have had many opportunities of bridging my clients’ needs during video creation, subtitling and brainstorming, with my Mandarin and Bahasa skills.
Finally, I hope that my age does not stand out as a negative point – while I am in my late forties, I do long walks about 2-3miles about 2 to 3 times a week, aside from yoga and cardiovascular exercises during this lockdown period indoors --- so most folks mistake me to be in my mid early to mid thirties. I have been in jobs with long hours of sitting and travelling, lifting and travelling with movie equipment for servicing (for my husband’s equipment rental house).
