22 bedded facility caring for in- ad out-patients in a variety of specialties

Was hired as the expert theatre practitioner as a part of a team to commission a major renovation project. This involved redesigning the existing building to include two new theatres, a CSSD and a new endoscopy and delivery suites.

Was given responsibility for a number of existing services in the hospital, implementing changes for a struggling facility.

Responsibilities included the overseeing of most of the services in the hospital, with the exception of the doctors, the finances and the marketing strategy.

Nurses and nursing practice was a focus for improvement, both in education, skills and organization and above all, patient interaction and safe service delivery. This involved very basic education for all nurse and customer care staff.

Quality improvement as key focus; the existing service amounted to production of JAWDA figures in line with DOH requirements. Nothing else had been implemented

Customer service was considered to be poor, and this was a third focus for service improvement across the board.

The existing theatre and CSSD was in a very poor and unsafe state, and most of my work was to improve this state while the structural improvements were ongoing.

After a few months, the theatre project was cancelled, and my position terminated.
