To Whom It May Concern:
I am a student at UC Irvine, majoring in Public Health Science, with a focus on eventually obtaining a
career in the medical field as a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. I’m writing to apply for a position as a Medical Assistant/Technician, which was listed on an online catalog. I full-heartedly believe that my skills, endurance, and perseverance give me the ability to be an ideal candidate.
I see you are seeking to fill a position that entails the ability to learn fast and efficiently multitask. As a full-time student, I have been able to construct a well-developed work ethic and knowledge in school subjects that correlate with working in a healthcare setting. I’ve taken courses ranging from general Biology and Chemistry to upper-division Anatomy and Physiology. I also recently worked at an Infant/Toddler Center on the UCI campus pre-COVID, where I interacted and help care for which gave me extensive experience with childcare in a professional setting.
These experiences have allowed me to further my academic scope, as well as understand how to adapt to each given environment. It has also allowed me to develop strong time management and interpersonal communication skills, which I view to be important when seeking internships and volunteer opportunities, while also being a full-time student at a University. I realize that this position requires a willingness to work in group settings, as well as being proactive, and the skills I have gained have helped me prepare to excel in this internship.
I would enjoy working at this clinic because I have a strong drive for wanting to reach out and help the community in which I live in. I would mainly be looking forward to being able to be an integral part of helping the patients have as much of a positive experience in the clinic, as well as the families having an assured time as well. I understand that the ambiance in any clinic or hospital could be relatively solemn, so being able to bring in a new and welcoming attitude could help bring a smile on patients' faces, even during these difficult times. I am also aware of the amount of work that is needed in the clinic that could only be done with interns who can quickly and efficiently get tasks done. There's so much work to be done, whether the jobs be larger roles or smaller roles, yet all are equally as important in getting done, not only for the efficiency of the clinic, but also for the comfortability of the families.
I am eager to continue developing my skills and hope to review my application with you at a future interview. Attached is also a copy of my resume and thank you for your time and consideration. I am
available through phone and email, and I hope to hear back from you very soon. Sincerely,
Melanie Nguyen
