Utilized AllScripts software EHR to find patients who were prescribed Daptomycin and analyzed indication for use, prior antibiotic failure, whether use was empiric or therapeutic, types of positive cultures grown, intended duration of treatment compared to actual duration of treatment, and readmission. Prior factors were analyzed to evaluate trends in prescribing habits to determine ways to ensure optimal prescribing habits, mitigate hospital medication costs, and maintain integrity of antibiotic stewardship.
