PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
CONTINENTAL Mar 2019 – Dec 2019
HR12 is a powertrain developed at 40% by continental for the alliance Nissan-Renault for the 2022 European market under the Euro7 standard. My role as a calibration lead was to coordinate with all Continental functions leads and software team to deliver to our client a SW and a calibration that meet the client requirements.
SYSTEM CALIBRATION LEAD:
Software and Calibrations assembling, testing and troubleshooting
Evaluating and debugging the engine control functions using HIL, Etas hardware, Simulink models
Planning and coordinating the calibration development and test activities
Planning and prioritizing the HIL (hardware in the loop) tests and validations
Responsible for the accuracy of the client software and calibrations deliveries
Determining engine functions responsibilities for Continental and Nissan-RSA
Ensuring teams meet the internal and external deadlines
Accomplishments:
Started the first HR12 engine which was optimized to maintain an idle speed of 15 minutes
PSA GROUP Dec 2016 – Mar 2019
PSA is a European leader in car consumption and emission. My role as a powertrain engineer was to optimize the PSA powertrains to get them to meet the European standards Euro6c and Euro6d, while maintaining a low gas consumption.
POWERTRAIN DESIGN ENGINEER:
Evaluation and improvement of internal and external PSA engine calibrations
Generation and validation of consumption and pollutant mapping
Validation of OBD emission and fuel consumption
Analyzing the roller-bench and engine-bench tests
Consumption and emission simulation and validation.
Optimization of the powertrain functions (stop and start, electrical management, injection strategy)
Optimization of the exhaust line efficiency
Elaboration of an energetic synthesis and proposition of improvement
Generation of an optimal gear shifting mapping for a low CO2 and NOX for manual and automatic transmission
Accomplishments:
Improved two diesel powertrains to pass the Euro6c standard
Designed the first calibration set for the PSA 2L Diesel engine for the Euro6d standard
Solved a consumption crisis for the PSA 1.2L Gasoline engine
OCP GROUP Feb 2016 – Jun 2016
OCP Group is a world Phosphate leader with a power plant that uses the extra high-pressure steam produced in the Sulphuric unit. The goal was to find ways to improve the energy efficiency of the power plant.
ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROJECT
Defining all the power plant inputs and outputs and calculating its energy efficiency
Inspecting the power plant equipment and determining sources of the energy losses
Calculating the amount of energy loss and defining ways to save
Creating a VBA application that simulates the powerplant operation
Accomplishments:
The above steps generated a 5 MW saving on the 99 MW total energy production
Discovered that the VBA application takes into account which of the three turbo-generators should be used to save up to 6 MV.
