CHEVRON

EARTH SCIENTIST (April 2009 / Oct 2015)

Earth science position focused on reservoir characterization and earth model building in support of the identification, maturation and execution of improved oil recovery. Working in a multidiscipline and multinational team, providing specialized geological & geophysical support for the operated and non-operated activities in Brazil. Activities include interaction with the team and especially with J.V. partners (Petrobras and Shell) on all aspects of G&G procedures, such as quality control of G&G work of the partners, and participate/assist in work process.

The job responsibilities include: seismic interpretation, reservoir correlation and mapping, reservoir modeling and monitor develop plans. Able to identify additional opportunities and suggest improvements.

Brazil Workflow Development Champion of the Next Generation Project (Corporate transition to modern subsurface interpretation and earth modeling software framework architectures).

Continued developing seismic interpretation experience working with the Frade asset and Exploration groups. Developed 4D and OBN interpretation and carried through all the activities of drilling and appraisal/exploration well. Managed MCP wells with WC-CPDEP (Chevron Project Development and Execution Process) and gain more project manager experience by getting involved in other activities.

Responsible for submitting all seismic data to ANP and took primary role if any Frade POD editing/revision was needed, supporting team goal of approval.

Content Manager for Frade G&G supporting KDACS (Management of Key Business Information) activities and "geotech" database clean up.

Analysis of shallow drilling hazards.

Provided interpretation of new AI and EI volumes. Extracted attributes. Ran Geoteric for Spectral Decomposition. Interpreted potential boundaries/polygons/baffles/regions. Demonstrated the validity of detuning work for conditioning the reservoirs.

Geophysics COP (Community of practice) Champion role for Brazil.

G&G APPLICATION SUPPORT (March 2007 / April 2009)

This position provides ongoing support of a wide variety of geological and geophysical applications used within the Business Unit, and related business process analysis and improvement. A strong knowledge of Earth Science duties and an excellent working knowledge of the computer applications are used within the function. Technologies and tools may include, but are not limited to, OpenWorks (Landmark core products and other applications like OpenWire, Decision Space, etc…), Paradigm Epos 3, 3DCanvas/SeisEarth, VoxelGeo, Geolog, Gocad, Chevron plug-ins, etc...

Additionally to the day-to-day user support and problem resolution provided, other roles of this function is to develop and maintain custom G&G applications; and collaborate with earth scientists on work process improvements; In additional, create, maintain and query databases on multiple platforms for use in geological analyses & interpretations, and constructing integrated technical data sets for subsequent interpretation. Participation on special project teams involving software support, development and deployment (Next Generation Brazil IT Coordinator - Systematically plan and organize the corporate transition to modern subsurface interpretation and earth modeling (IEM) software framework architectures; R5000 Project Lead; Supervision of contract employees and coordination of vendors assistance - Landmark and Paradigm onsite support, mentoring and consulting).

The support is provided for three different teams of Earth Scientists: Frade team, NOJV and LABU Exploration. Frequent interaction with geoscientists to understand business processes was providing an opportunity to develop a broad general knowledge of the oil production business, ability to understand technical issues, flexibility to learn new technologies, ability to form and maintain collaborative business relationships.

PARADIGM / EARTH DECISION

G&G CONSULTANT (Sep 2005 / Feb 2007)

Responsible for a Support Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, that covers all South America (created in January of 2006, the third one after Houston and Paris). Eventually the support was provided to other customers in US and Europe.

Part of a global team dedicated to supporting customers who uses Earth Decision Suite product (Gocad). Several ways of interaction with Gocad users were used to provide them with the best devised solutions to resolve their issues: including email, call handling, RightNow support solutions, Webex, on-site visits, etc... A practical knowledge on interpretation skills, geological modeling and reservoir characterization were developed during the work experience with geoscientists from different assets especially at PETROBRAS (reservoir, petroleum systems and exploration projects)

PETROBRAS

SEISMIC INTERPRETATION INTERN (Jan 2004 / Aug 2005)

Conventional and Volumetric Seismic Interpretation using SeisWorks and GeoProbe/Landmark.

Seismic Attributes Analysis: AVO Analysis with Logs, Acoustic Inversion (log-seismic integration) and Attributes Maps Using respectively SIGEO/PETROBRAS, Easytrace & Interwell/Beicip-Franlab, and PostStack/PAL/Landmark. The integration of these non conventional geophysical techniques were used on this job to evaluate sets of different seismic attributes, to perform a lithologic prediction from them. All the alternatives applied in this work were tested with the purpose to correlate the attributes and the litostratigraphic model. The analysis were practiced from 3D seismic cubes using intervals of common angle, crossplots of logs, intercept and gradient, seismic sections of acoustic impedance with inversion diagnosis and QC; and maps of attributes with rank correlation matrix.

ANP – NATIONAL PETROLEUM AGENCY

SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER (Jan 2004 / Aug 2005)

Program of Human Resources of Brazilian National Petroleum Agency (ANP) for the Sector of Oil and Gas
