Well Engineer
Feb 2019 – Present
Work as operations engineer for drilling rigs under satellite LSTK project. My scope is to prepare drilling, casing programs, handle logistics, track inventory, make reports, optimize time to increase performance and ensure all well engineering processes are applied in the execution of well construction.
Real time monitoring of wells and providing technical support to drilling superintendent for execution of the wells with very narrow margin of breakout and fracture pressures
Prepare basis of well design, well program and conduct drill & completion well on paper, which also includes BHA, Mud and Cement design etc.
Visited all well pad locations to finalize cellar (33 Nos) placing in the initial phase of the project and during execution oversee rig movement and placement on these congested production well pads for zero equipment movement during skidding process.
Prepare project schedule Gantt chart based on inventory management and rig/unit allocation. Optimized movement of rigs to reduce time and save cost for the project
Ordered long lead items and supported procurement team in finalizing contracts for carrying out drilling and completion activities
Maintain interface with other discipline teams (such as HSE, Subsurface, cementing, directional, Completions, Contracts, Logistics, Finance etc.) and client to coordinate, clarify and resolve concerns for effective well planning and execution.
Responsible to train graduate trainees with technical knowledge of the rig operations and review their EOWR.
Cairn Oil and gas
Senior Drilling Engineer
Gurgaon
2018 – 2019
Worked as well site drilling Engineer for a three well exploration project in east coast of India. Specific duties included overseeing operations, managing complete well inventory, carry out cement plug and leak of test jobs.
Worked as operations engineer for a 1000 HP onshore rig, which completed a 9 well campaign under the budgeted cost. Also successfully planned and executed a medium radius (7 – 11 DLS) well in this campaign, which included planning using landmark software, drilling time estimation, AFE estimation
(SPE Paper link below)
Part of the team, which awarded IPM contracts. My role was to prepare SOW, carry out technical evaluation and close out ADC’s (Abnormal drilling conditions) with bidders.
Successfully completed auditing of the invoices (for 9 well campaign) with KPMG and finance team by clearing all the technical queries
Cairn India Barmer/Gurgaon
Drilling Engineer
2015 – 2018
Worked as well site-drilling Engineer on SCR onshore drilling rigs, which delivered 15 wells with different well designs. Specific duties included making daily operational reports, conducting safety meetings and job safety analyses, managing logistics, carry out rig less operations (Like slick line, e-line, coil tubing) and reporting operations to drilling superintendent and senior drilling engineer.
Office duties included making time depth curves, completing EOWR’s, making drilling montages and collaborating with services companies for rig operations.
Worked as well planner to design trajectory for 42 horizontal wells along with their anti-collision analysis using compass software.
Participate in Incident Investigation Review and Multidisciplinary Site Visit (MDSV) teams STRENGTHS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Practical, creative and proactive Engineer with strong leadership qualities, excellent oral and communication skill and a flair for dealing with the unexpected.
Adequate functional knowledge of artificial lift, Geology, Reservoir Engineering and Production Technology to interface effectively with Asset / G & G counterparts for futuristic well designs
Reduced flat time for one of the rig by 30 % with the help of rig team by planning sequential operations and improved logistics
With the help of pattern recognition approach made a 3D model of leak of test (LOT) with well inclination and azimuth to predict near LOT values for the wells where LOT’s were not conducted. The model also helped company to remove the LOT job from planned time to save cost.
