Also, I have a Bachelors degree in Business Management (09/2007) with a 3.52 GPA from the University of Phoenix. I retired from the military (U.S. Army) in 2004. Logistics/SSMO/Class I Warehouse Manager
As the Logistics/SSMO/Class I manager I was directly responsible for (3) warehouses with supervisors and employees. In addition, I was responsible for the planning and coordinating, ordering, and distribution of food products, equipment and accessories for the Supply Chain for (3) islands to include all commercial food processes to include AAFEEs, MWR, and the Bakery. Ensured adequate and timely distribution consistent with good inventory control while maintaining all government supply systems from AFMIS to GCSS-Army. In addition, followed all safety guidelines using established government safety guidelines to protect equipment and personnel. Applied analytics to order Class I to establish monthly inventory levels to prevent shortages and waste. Orders were once every 7 – 8 weeks with shipments frequently being late so having analytical ability was of upmost important when forecasting Class I for (3) islands. Ability to take over a struggling warehouse process and streamline into an effective running logistical process. Exceeded all company and government standards to provide excellent service to end users. In addition, was responsible for providing ice on the island. Personally, wrote all the warehouse and ice plant (SOP’s) to include commercial ordering system and AFMIS for the DLA ordering portion. Maintained accountability of all assets during tenure as Class I manager. Provided guidance all technical, contractual, and Military regulations to the U.S. Army Garrison and DynCorp personnel. Subject matter expert on all warehouse related operations and supply functions with Class I activities. Responsible for employee’s safety, training, time sheet approvals, counseling, mentoring, and morale. Manages distribution network functions to achieve proper inventory levels, stock control, including warehousing and traffic strategies. Responsible for turning in CDRLs and maintaining all administration requirements to include employee training certifications and licensing. In addition, manages logistics personnel and activities for assigned sites to best support operations and/or maintenance requirements. Responsible for collaborating with site, regional, and project leadership, including operations and maintenance management, to develop or revise plans, policies, and procedures for logistics support in area of responsibility. Also, ensured security procedures were followed to keep warehouses secure to include key control log and sign in and out logs were always maintained. Access to warehouses were limited to personnel needing access on approved rosters everyone was escorted who did not on approved roster. Responsible for scheduling employees, approving work assignments and overtime, approving shift changes, and approve any scheduled or unscheduled changes in work. Communicates directly with the COR for any warehouse related issues for any LOTDs, receipts, approved orders, requests, and receipt adjustments. Pursues optimal performance from assigned resources with consideration of time, cost, and customer (government) objectives. Responsible for developing and briefing site performance reports, identifying issues, and resolving concerns at U.S. Army Garrison meetings. Strong knowledge of logistics problems, applications and distribution systems. In addition, strong working knowledge of First In First Out (FIFO) procedures. Military Dining Facility, General Manager
The Dining Facility General Manager has full responsibility for the supervision of a US Army dining facility that supports up to 2600 persons per meal and an account valued at $8.7 million dollars a year. Responsible for maintaining budgeting controls in the facility. Consistently manages budgets under 1% for the fiscal year. Budgeting knowledge is thoroughly respected throughout the company. Has mastered the ability to hit budgeting targets through thorough analysis of inventory in conjunction with ordering food stores while maintaining current/future inventory levels in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Directly responsible for Class I operations for the warehouse operations to include ordering food/subsistence out of the AFMIS/Stores/supply ordering system. These overall duties include reviewing the daily reports for accuracy. Also, he is responsible for conducting discrepancy reports on damaged products delivered by vendors. Responsible for training new managers on managing budgets. Manages and supervises approximately 100 employees, including 3 Assistant Managers, head cooks/first cooks, second cooks, bakers, ration clerks, headcounters/cashiers, dining facility attendant shift leaders, and dining facility attendants. Also, is additionally assigned as the Senior Environmental Compliance Officer for the Company. Prepares reports and monitors the performance with safety, equipment, maintenance, accounting, supplies, and personnel training. Responsible for making work schedules that can accommodate valid workload changes and all other requirements from Post Food Service or the COR. Also, responsible for ensuring the dining facility maintains compliance with all environmental regulations according to the food service contract. Responsible for reporting all hazardous waste to the Post Environmental Specialist for disposal.
