Excavation of surface to a required level in order to remove the top vegetation and compact it to the required compaction so that it becomes fit to receive backfilling. This was done for the area which was below the top level of the subgrade of the project. The land fill was enormous because of the topography of the area. The areas were mostly hilly as it was an island.
Excavation and cutting of the area which were above the top level of the subgrade of the project. These quantities were also huge because of the topographical conditions.
Backfilling of multi-layer of subgrade with minimum compaction of 95%.
Soil stabilization of one layer of subgrade of 25 cm with 2% lime. Engr. Mohammad Asim, PMP® Page 7
Soil stabilization of one layer of subgrade of 25 cm with 2% lime and 1% cement.
