Expansion of Al Amiri Hospital

Ministry of Health Engineer’s in conjunction with the US consultants Helmuth, Obata, Kassabum (HOK), The project consisted of expansion of the existing Amiri Hospital involving the construction of a new building, renovation of an existing building, the supply and installation of equipment and furniture and provision of operational maintenance for a period of two years. The project is “design and build” with a value in excess of KD 98 million awarded to an international joint venture consortium of five firms and will provide hospital accommodation totaling 415 beds, of which 381 are in-patient, 18 for renal dialysis and 16 for the Same Day unit. The area on which the new building will be constructed is 13,000 square meters and the gross area of the new hospital will be 142,000 square meters including four basements accommodating parking lots for 650 vehicles. The refurbishment of the existing hospital will include re-planning the first-floor area where the current operating theatres and laboratories are located and adding nine new operating theaters. The renovation works will cover a total surface area of 3,860 square meters. The new building will be linked to the existing main hospital building by a six-meter-wide tunnel at the first basement level and an eight-meter-wide upper level bridge at the second floor. Both the tunnel and the bridge will be air-conditioned and will be utilized for carrying services and facilitating the movement of materials, staff and patients between both buildings. The hospital will incorporate the most modern medical facilities available with state-of-the-art electromechanical systems, including safety and energy conservation provisions and will conform to the LEED standards

KIA Headquarters Building Project, Kuwait

Construction of tower building and podium building, 50 floors above ground level which is stacked in four office courtyard atriums of eight floors each and one eight storey executive office courtyard. Each of these eight storey atriums consists of a two storey atrium facing the east, a four storey atrium facing the north and a two storey atrium facing the west. The eight floors in a stack are linked together by a central 16 meters x 16 meters open space which creates one grand eight storey atrium. The executive atrium consists of the top eight floors. The building is topped off by structural steel façade of about 20 meters in height. Podium building contains both the common and public areas.

Project Value: approximately USD 248 million

Responsibilities:
