My main qualities lie in the ability to manage difficult stressful situation's efficiently and professionally. Always using my team-working skills to their full potential. I achieved Head Boy at school and also represented England as a Youth International Athlete. Later becoming a Proffessional Sportsman. I began a basic medical career as a Lifeguard, progressing to the Lead Emergency Medical post within a large factory, dealing daily with any serious incidents. Chairing meetings with senior management to find effective solutions to Health and Safety issues.
As a current NWAS Advanced Ambulance Care Worker, I am constantly updated with changes, improvements and advances within the emergency care field. Also getting to practice my growing skills daily. Dealing with injured and vulnerable children and adults. This keeps me on the front line. Constantly gaining valuable experience and substantial knowledge of the vast differences between patients conditions and behaviours. Always showing empathy and compassion.
Dealing daily with Dementia and Alzheimers patients is always a challenge. My positive attitude and persuasive techniques usually shines through for a successful outcome.

I fully understand the importance of good teamwork and communication. I personally set up and ran an advanced emergency bleep system. As an ex Assistant Physiotherapist, I had to be assertive in persuading and encouraging frightened patients to safely stand for the first time - post operation. Teaching the correct use of frames, crutches and also attending gym classes to instruct vital exercise techniques to patients. This always helped speed up their mobilisation and recovery.

As a past British Red Cross Volunteer, I have provided essential cover and response to the public during numerous well attended events. Even being invited to Buckingham palace to speak with Prince Charles about my emergency BRC role.
Unfortunately, my son was diagnosed with Autism, ADHD and Tourrettes Syndrome at the age of 5. He also suffers Depression, Dyslexia and has an Eating Disorder. Living with a young person with these issues is a constant struggle. Learning techniques to deal with these problems has been extremely difficult. The rewards are few, but worthwhile. The experience gained dealing with these matters on a day to day basis has been invaluable in helping me deal with patients with such issues.
I am an ex Professional Rugby League player. During this time I learned the hard way how to treat wounds correctly and quickly. Cuts, sprains, pulls, concussions, severe bruising etc...On a weekly basis. Also helping to treat team mates to their very specific requirements.
I still enjoy keeping fit. Cross country running, weight training and boxing keeps me sharp and active. My other main hobbies include; Playing the acoustic guitar and chess.
I also help coach, condition and play, for Haydock Cricket Team.
I have exceptional problem solving skills, have enhanced 2019 DBS clearance, and I am willing to undertake any further training necessary to advance my medical career prospects.
I now have much experience dealing with Covid positive patients. There moving and handling.
I am fully PPE trained (Covid 19) and have had a successful fit test for the FFP3 face mask.
