Manager – Development
Built and managed a team focused on the creation of Content, Contact, and Campaign Management add-ons to support their core Insurance Brokerage Management System (BMS). Roles included management of the development staff (including contractors), assessing solutions, and working with the product team to define, schedule, and manage scope. These products leveraged a cloud-hosted Drupal site solution to:
Create, import, and manage contacts and leads utilizing REST API and GraphQL to and from the .NET BMS.
Allow for the upload and maintenance of industry and policy-specific marketing content created by an in-house content creation team.
Enable agencies to create and schedule targeted email campaigns to distribute content via API through an Email Service Provider (ESP).
Provide metrics and reporting on the effectiveness of the campaigns.

Manager – .NET Development
Organized a technical team of 11 to rewrite of the core SaaS product for a hotel accounting and analytics provider. Directed the strategic planning, redesign, re-architecture, and coding of the application using a .NET N-Tiered solution.
Championed and implemented Agile Scrum methodology to provide quicker delivery and earlier feedback from business partners on adherence to requirements.
Led the creation and deployment of a Continuous Integration (CI) solution using Team Foundation Build, facilitating the ability to quickly provide product for QA testing.

Macy’s Systems and Technology Johns Creek, GA 2010 – 2015
Manager – Financial Merchandise Reporting Solutions
Led business unit responsible for developing enterprise-level BI solutions for senior management, merchants, and vendors on behalf of the technology division of a leading retail chain. Managed up to 15 contract and full-time Developers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Analysts, and Project Managers with a budget of $2M.
Led the development of a vendor portal utilizing ETL, SSAS, SSRS, Teradata, and .NET that provided insight into key business metrics and trends, including omnichannel views of selling.
Directed a cross-functional team in the development of a mobile application for senior management that provided drill down view into sales and stock.
Managed the rewrite of a mission-critical workflow application enabling district merchants to communicate efficiently with central buyers, supporting the ‘Localization’ initiative which helped Macy’s achieve sales increases exceeding those of competitors over several years.
Oversaw the conversion of all reporting websites to SharePoint 2013 to support migration to the latest release.

Directed applications development for the Macy’s Central division, a $5.2 billion, fast-moving retail enterprise comprising 244 locations. With a budget of $1.5M, formed and coached a software development group. Led staff career development and performance management. Architected a roadmap for the creation of systems to address a wide range of retail business functions including merchant sales analysis, staffing, store operations, finance, visual merchandising, marketing, and human resources.
Directed creation of a Microsoft SQL Server-based product and financial data marts, along with BI Tools, to provide Merchandising and other stakeholders a means to analyze selling trends. These systems were deployed company-wide at the request of Macy’s Inc.
Earned the Macy’s Executive of the Year award for subsequent enhancements to the product analysis tool that supported pricing recommendations.
Led the development of a KPI-based store manager dashboard that identified problem areas from a revenue perspective. Managers that used the tool to operate their stores exceeded corporate standards.
Drove vendor collaboration and decreased merchant workload by developing systems to automate the publishing of timely sales results to all vendors, highlighting problem areas. This contributed to the division becoming the top performer across Macy’s in order fulfillment.
Designed, developed, and championed detailed web-based reporting using SharePoint to drive credit and gift card sales, resulting in top performance among all Macy’s divisions, 103% and 107% to goal, respectively.
Successfully helped lead the consolidation of four retail organizations over a three-year period, growing the division’s responsibility from 80 to over 240 locations.
