Tested the spray characteristics of diesel engine for the title “Experimental Simulation of Nozzle Geometry and Spray Chararcteristics” and presented in Project Review conducted by Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, Sriperumbudur
From this study, the spray characteristics of Diesel, COME (Corn Oil Methyl Ester) and CB20
(Corn Oil Blend), namely Spray tip penetration and Spray cone angle were experimentally determined.
The Sauter mean diameter was estimated using the correlations established for the tested fuels.
The spray tip penetration decreases, as the number of holes in injector nozzle increases.
The smallest to longest spray tip penetration is observed for the tested fuels in the following order, namely, Diesel, CB20 and COME.
The spray cone angle decreases as the number of holes in the injector nozzle increases.
The least spray cone angle is observed for COME and the greatest is for CB20.
It is observed that SMD of the fuel injected decreases in the order of single hole, five hole and three hole injector nozzle.
The least and greatest SMD were observed for CB20 and COME respectively.
As observed from the outings, it is concluded that three hole injector nozzle and CB20 can be employed for the use in diesel engine.
Fabricated an power generation with modification related to the topic “Design of power generation using flexible road surface” and presented in Project Review conducted by DMI college of Engineering,Chennai
In this project we are generating electrical power as non-conventional method by running the vechile on the flexible road surface.
Non-conventional energy using roadways needs no fuel input power to generate the output of the electrical power
This project using simple drive mechanisim such as rack and pinion assemble and chain drive mechanism.
