Raymond is a seasoned Power Systems Engineer/Administrator for the iseries, who brings over 25 years DP/IT experience, beginning as a computer operator in a mainframe environment, and then specializing in IBM enterprise systems. He’s experienced with systems and hardware selection, configuration and installations of mid-range servers, networks, client connectivity, and communications protocols as well as developed and been trained in High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, for single systems to entire data centers. Adding on, Ray has completed multiple upgrades to v7.2, 7.3 upgrade. He recently completed a data center relocation and migration project, and is currently supporting legacy tools and applications at PanAmerica Life Insurance Group. These include upgrading from OMS/ODS to Mimmix, while supporting 9 pairs of OMS replication LPARS, replacing home grown security with an all-inclusive audit and compliance security package. I have many years providing performance evaluations using performance navigator, and iDoctor. I have FSM experience and re-configured to use the HMCs and VIOS to see all the power servers.

Brought in to be part of the iSeries project team as a systems engineer.

Primary duties were upgrading Iseries hardware to power 7, and bringing the OS level from V5R4 to V7R1.

iSeries Administrator Security and Performance

This contract was to evaluate the 770s running OS/400, Aix and Linux.

The focus is on OS/400 using iDoctor and Performance Navigator to gather metrics.

Ran security audits to find performance isues. Found security isues with the updates to the application package from Agilisys, the vendor.

Built a HA 770 in the Las Vegas DC next to the production system for a quicker fail over should the production 770 be visited by an outage. The iSeries are the back bone of Caesars and run both the front of the house and the financials.

Considered to go-to person (SME) and have been training to new NOC vendor for iSeries related task.

Wrote SLAs, SOPs, and advising on CRQs, for change control.
