Leading the investigation of any accident or incident and making recommendation on modified procedure to avoid recurrences.

Co-ordination and provision of safety training and safety induction to all staff.

Advising project supervisor (s) and manager(s) on the implementation of safety procedures.

Ensuring that all necessary statutory and other records are maintained.

Developing within the establishment an atmosphere of safety Consciousness by example by discussion, by advice and training.

Informing all members of the establishment of the status, requirement and codes of Practice for safe working, of procedure already adopted and of the use personnel protective equipment (PPE), and to ensure their observance and proper use; to arrange for the reporting and investigation of incident with a view to further preventive measures or the dissemination of information to others.

Creating awareness of the hazards associated with the use of radioactive materials, carcinogens (cancer inducer), toxic chemicals and other aspect of occupational health hazard and dissemination of this information.
