Revamped claims payment process; Identified overpayments ($1.5 million); prepared long range plans; and recast prior year’s results accurately as Transition CFO for a $65 million Medical Group.

VP Controller

Responsible for managing the monthly close and reporting activities including SEC reporting, internal controls, business modeling, divestitures, and Sox implementation for this highly complex GE business consisting of insurance and non-insurance entities. Also lead the IT Finance team, the Accounts Receivable team and the Accounts Payable teams as well as the outsourced teams in India.

Achievements:

Established and led the cross-functional forum comprised of key business executives driving effective controls and process improvements across all functions utilizing Six Sigma. Interacted with auditors.

Established new accounting closing procedures and policies, reducing monthly close from 12 to 4 days and reduced headcount by 30% while delivering improved efficiency. Provided SEC input.

Implemented effective controls, developed controls training for all functions, significantly improved accuracy of the balance sheet and provided blueprint for SOX implementation across GE organizations.
