This project is basically related to Forex exchange for HSBC.
Which is taken care by third party bank CLS (CONTINUITY LINKED SETTLEMENT).
The core system has been developed by IBM and is operated by the non-profit making Continuous Linked Settlement Bank International (CLSB). HSBC regards CLS as a major tool in reducing risk in its FX operations and, along with other global FX players, is a shareholder of CLS Services (CLSS).
Part of the CLS solution being developed by IBM is the ‘member application’. This consists of an NT server to which user workstations are connected and allows CLS members to submit data to, and receive data from, the core CLS system.
HSBC requires additional functionality to that provided by the member application and has achieved this by developing an in-house application, the CLSPM (CLS Process Manager). This system will run on the AS400 platform and will act as the link between the Member Application and existing systems. The CLSPM will reside on SILVER in production, and on BRONZE for contingency.
