EXPERIENCE

Director of Human Resources

Plan and manage the recruitment, interviewing, hiring and orientation processes to maintain staffing levels with qualified individuals.

Position the hotel as the "preferred employer" in the area by maintaining strong community relations with referral agencies to maintain strong applicant flow.

Counsel and train managers on employee relations issues, resolve employee grievances, conduct management exit interviews & examine all exit interviews for trends, implement various employee relations programs to maintain a pro-employee environment that ultimately limits turnover.

Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures along with state, federal and local laws and regulations as they pertain to every facet of Human Resources/Employer related functions.

Supervise Human Resources operation in the hotel to train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communication, discipline and terminate as appropriate.

Formulate budgets for Employee Relations, Staff Training and Recruitment Advertising as well as wages and benefits for Human Resource Staff for the budgeted time frame.

Survey, implement, communicate and administer the benefit program in compliance with corporate procedures to aid and retain employees. Propose enhancements to the proper authority for approval before implementation.

Payroll administrator responsible for preparing/monitoring Payroll Action Forms & input/update ADP new hires, terms, and daily changes to ensure accurate, up-to-date information is available for payroll and management.

Maintain employee records, files and the Human Resource office systems. Compile various corporate reports and property reports to provide management with accurate information and comply with corporate policies and procedures as well as government laws and regulations.

Human Resources Generalist

Maintains the employee database and generates scheduled or requested reports to assist management. Periodically audits the HRIS database to ensure accuracy.

Reviews HRIS system and recommends the addition of modules that will assist in the continuous improvement processes of the department.

Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in a timely manner.

Maintains personnel, medical and worker’s compensation files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

Analyzes the data from the monthly ESR reports from Paychex to ensure that eligible employees are receiving benefits in accordance with the Affordable Care Act.

Conducts benefit orientations and other benefit training, as needed.

Processes enrollments, changes, and terminations of participants in all benefit plans and programs. Reconciles monthly billing statements against payroll deductions.

Processes COBRA paperwork on all terminated employees timely.

Administers the day-to-day transactions of the 401(k) plan related to enrollments and plan changes.

Advertises employee job openings in keeping with company recruitment policies. Writes newspaper classified ads and posts ads on the Internet in places appropriate to the open position including job boards, college career services offices, and professional associations.

Provides a first review of resumes and conducts telephone interviews. Maintains a filing system that retains qualified applications for one year. Schedules interviews for the hiring manager and Human Resources.

Mails out the candidate offer letter packet as requested and tracks return.

Sends rejection letters to unsuccessful candidates for all positions sourced.

Conducts new-employee orientation.

Conducts reference checks.

Prepares paperwork required for new hires and establishes personnel file.

Assists with temporary staffing needs by contacting and working with the Temporary Staffing Agency.

Review background checks and process all drug screens on new hires.

Assists in the development and implementation of an employee handbook and new personnel policies and procedures.

Files all compliance reports with the state and federal government including EEO-1 report.

Assists with the implementation and tracking of company safety and health programs.

Assists Operations with Worker’s compensation claims. Manages worker’s compensation claims. Works with the insurance vendor to ensure that claims are closed timely.

Completes salary requests on all prospective new hires and obtains approval from the Vice President of HR prior to verbal offers being made.
