Resume:

SHANNON PIKE

It is a pleasure to submit my resume to GetQuorum for the position of Meeting Moderator as seen on PostJobFree. Thank you in advance for your time.

I am a dedicated and determined worker; I have always proven eager to learn new skills and adapt to new situations. I have amazing presentation skills and I am comfortaple talking to people from individuals to large groups.

I had the opportunity to spend eight years as a teleconferencing Senior event operator, Scheduler, and team lead. During this time, I gained an understanding of MS Office, especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel. I am proficient at creating reports, writing professional emails and letters and my typing and grammar were tested and kept to a high standard. Every day I interacted in a friendly and professional manner with leaders in healthcare, politics, business, entertainment and many other industries. I had to be a quick thinker and creative problem solver, often troubleshooting problems behind the scenes while maintaining a calm and confident front while engaged with the consumer. As a result of my time in this sector, I became a master of working in a timeline, multitasking and staying calm during escalations and crises.

As a student of behavioural science, I have experience working professionally with a variety of vulnerable populations and specific training in working together with individuals in a culturally and individually sensitive manner. I have designed and implemented educational and behavioural programs for adults, children, and adults with intellectual delays of varying degrees. These programs taught social and life skills, social cues and emotions recognition, grooming and healthy habits, academic skills and content, English as a second language, gross and fine motor skills and fundamentals of problem-solving.

I have a whimsical and fun personality. As such, co-workers and clients both warm to me quickly. I have learned through years in telecommunications, consumer service, and placements in professional and secure environments, how to balance professionalism with friendliness and confidentiality with open communication. This balance is especially valuable at Sensity in their supported independent living programs, for when communicating with parents, I would need to acknowledge the openness that comes from having their children as roommates while maintaining strict confidentiality regarding ongoing health and personal concerns.

I am trained and experienced in a variety of communication, de-escalation and harm reduction techniques. I am renowned in my workplaces and private life at engaging with professionals, clients and those with exceptionalities, without becoming overwhelmed. In emotional situations, I can maintain and re-establish calm. I am very patient and believe in a kind, focused, distraction and empathy-based approach.

I believe that people thrive in an approachable, non-judgmental environment, with a harm-reduction mindset. I am a solution-focused caregiver who seeks out current learning and up to date research to each program and educational experience can reach its full potential.

I am excited to hear from you at your convenience!
