CLINICAL DUTIES
● Obstetric and gynecological outpatient and inpatient care.
● Responsible for pre-procedure assessment for each patient.
● Plan for date and methods of induction for delivery of obstetric patients.
● Development and documentation of inpatient care
● Participate in planning/ procedure/ follow up of assigned patient.
● Monitor patient before, during, and after delivery and counteract adverse reactions or complications.
● Provide and maintain support and management and help prepare in obstetric emergencies.
● Record patient condition throughout procedure.
● Decide when patients have recovered or stabilized enough to be sent to another room or ward or to be sent home following planned or emergency admission and subsequent procedures.
● Confer with other medical professionals to determine coexisting medical and/or surgical co-morbidities
● Coordinate and direct work of nurses, medical technicians, and other health care providers. Ensure appropriate communication with patients and staff.
● Active participation in the after-hours Obstetric and Gynecological Registrar roster NON-CLINICAL DUTIES
● Engage in self-directed as well as work-directed learning of relevant principles and material.
● Participate in Departmental continuing education program & in Quality Assurance activities.
