To whom it may concern,

I was delighted to see the job opening position seeking a Medical Assistant with Capital Health in Pennington, New Jersey and other locations in New Jersey. I graduated from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science. I am hoping to gain broader clinical work experiences in various specialties as a Medical Assistant for an additional 1-2 years prior to considering graduate programs in healthcare. The goals of Capital Health align with mine through its commitment to providing technologically advanced, comprehensive, and compassionate medical services to residents in the New Jersey area and beyond. From partaking in a medical service trip to help rural, underserved communities in Gautemala to consistent volunteering at inpatient and memory care units in St. Joe’s Hospital, I am passionate about contributing efforts to the improvement and availability of healthcare for all and hope to dedicate my career to providing quality patient care to the best of my ability.

Further, I am eager to learn the clinical and procedural intracies of different specialties. I currently work as a Medical Assistant in ophthalmology at Michigan Medicine where I conduct visual field tests, assist with intravitreal injections, and scribe for physicians on the electronic medical record (EMR) – all such tasks requiring daily, efficient collaboration and communication with members of a multidisciplinary staff. I previously worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at a rehabilitative facility, independently caring for up to 24 patients to become skilled at taking vital signs, upholding excellent patient care and bedside manner, and managing patient confidentiality. From such experience, I gained the necessary expertise to operate calmly and efficiently in any clinical setting.

Although I did not attend a Medical Assistant program, I firmly believe I am qualified to perform the tasks and responsibilities required of this position given my experience as a CNA from June 2018 until May 2019 and presently as a Medical Assistant since May 2019. I am capable of adapting to new environments quickly, processing information proficiently, and maintaining thorough and organized work habits. I am eager to engage in new learning opportunities and will not hesitate to ask questions when I need clarification, as I believe clear communication between members of the medical team and the patient is key for success. I approach every clinical situation with an enthusiastic, positive outlook to ensure patients have a comfortable and enjoyable visit.

I encourage you to review my resume and would greatly appreciate an opportunity to meet with you virtually or over the phone to discuss my application further. My availability in the coming weeks are after 5 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, after 4 PM on Tuesdays, and anytime on Saturdays and Sundays. I am most available via email at adeadj@r.postjobfree.com or at 734-***-****. Sincerely,

Kelly Hong
