PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Project Delivery Engineer – Operate & Maintain, Cadent Gas Ltd November 2019 – Present Key responsibilities & achievements:

• Responsible for the safe and efficient management of the operation and maintenance of asset health, focusing heavily on effective resource utilisation, health & safety and performance optimisation.

• Managing a team of 10 internal direct reports and 13 embedded contractors in delivering an annual maintenance programme on pre-heat assets collectively worth more than £150 million,

• Actively carrying out the duties of a client and ensuring principle contractors/designers have sufficient competence and the necessary supporting framework to carry out their roles.

• Embedding and monitoring a positive Health & Safety culture, minimising the number of H&S incidents by ensuring task-based risk assessments and therefore adequate control measures are in place.

• Writing safe systems of control permits for hot works, heavy lifts & working at height operations.

• Providing expert guidance in the decommissioning of high pressure gas assets in a safe and effective manner.

• Ensuring all engineering activities are in full compliance with Safe Control of Operations, Construction Design Management requirements (CDM) and associated policies & procedures. Asset Engineer – Operate & Maintain, Cadent Gas Ltd April 2018 – November 2019 Key responsibilities & achievements:

• Project managing asset data, ensuring legal compliance and conformance concerning the design and construction of new works, repairs or modifications, and the procedures relating to high pressure gas assets & their maintenance.

• Facilitating stakeholder communications across 5 large Gas Networks.

• Ensuring prompt maintenance and co-ordination of high pressure gas assets to manage workload and safeguard project delivery.

• Managing and instructing external service providers to ensure Heat Exchangers are repaired & revalidated in compliance with the correct specification.

• Leading a team of test engineers in undertaking hydrostatic pressure testing on preheat gas assets, demonstrating satisfactory asset performance and producing test certification.

• Ensuring all engineering activities are in full compliance with Safe Control of Operations, Construction Design Management requirements (CDM) and associated policy & procedure.

• Producing Risk Assessments & Method statements for all tasks. Project Lead – Heavy Mechanical Workshops, National Grid Gas Sep 2017 – Mar 2018 Key responsibilities & achievements:

• Responsible for the design and implementation of a cyclical maintenance process, enabling time & cost- effective revalidation of liquid solution held in Water Bath Heaters.

• Engaging with various stakeholders to identify deficiencies within current processes to ultimately design, trial and implement a new successful maintenance process.

• Applying project management principles, such as, a critical path analysis and determining critical success factors, resulted in a robust process thereby saving £4 million in maintenance costs.

• The maintenance process has been shared as best practice across other networks providing them with similar cost and time saving efficiencies.

Project Manager – Emergency Response & Repair (S&D), National Grid Gas Mar 2017 – Sep 2017 Key responsibilities & achievements:

• Project managing the implementation of a ‘customer focused’ process for planning, surveying and relaying of ‘Built over Services’ throughout the West Midlands.

• Creating, implementing and monitoring processes with outstanding performance results which were implemented further as best practice.

• Involved stakeholders from across Operations, Plant Protection and Resource Management ensuring effective communication within the process to collectively contribute to the overall success of the project.

• Generated an extensive training pack for Field Force operatives to adhere to which provided technical information and process guidance.

• Guaranteed an agile Built Over Service process by dealing with technical challenges and effectively resolving ad-hoc issues.

Project Manager – Replace & Extend, National Grid Gas Sep 2016 – Mar 2017 Key responsibilities & achievements:

• Responsible for both the Replace & Extend and Operations portfolios in delivering innovation projects for the wider business.

• Facilitated the incorporation of ‘Safety Contracts & Control Framework’ as part of the competency checklist to ensure project compliance with CDM regulations.

• Ensured all members of the team were competent to carry out their roles/duties proficiently by implementing a process to monitor current competencies amongst the team and identify any gaps in order to provide further training.

• Influenced stakeholders from within the business in a bid to submit an application to TFL for a £200,000 funding for a project. The successful implementation of this project resulted in improved asset data collection and efficient planning of operational jobs prior to execution.

• Created and implemented a process involving innovation projects and their current status. This provided stakeholders with a transparent tracking service of all stages in projects. Technical Specialist - Performance & Assurance (ER&R), National Grid Gas Sep 2014 – Sep 2015 Key responsibilities & achievements:

• A Technical Specialist within the Performance and Assurance Team, providing enduring support to Emergency Response & Repair in the Midlands.
