Attends high risk deliveries including extreme pre-term /extreme low birth weight babies and stabilize
(both inborn and out born).
Take supervised decision for the management of extreme premature/extreme low birth weight/ critically ill term babies.
Therapeutic hypothermia initiation, monitoring and follow up.
Management of sick babies with multi organ dysfunction including high ventilatory and ionotropic support along with peritoneal dialysis.
Perform transport of critically ill new born babies.
Perform procedures like intubation, surfactant administration, central lines, intercostal drainage, PICC line insertion, lumbar puncture, ventricular tapping and exchange transfusion.
Medical management and stabilization of neonatal surgical and cardiac cases.
Performs point of care neurosonogram and functional echocardiography.
Skilled in well newborn care, does regular postnatal rounds and counsel parents for their queries.
Takes part in high risk follow-up clinic and developmental assessment with standard screening tests and tools.
Participates in neonatal simulations sessions conducted in the hospital and is a part of team training nurses for the neonatal resuscitation.
Takes part in the infection control auditing and meetings.
Does clinical research work under guidance of renowned neonatologists and is a part of various quality initiative projects.
Part of breastfeeding team to counsel mothers for expressed breast milk for our successful breastfeeding quality initiative program.
