Objective
Dedicated and enthusiastic chemical engineer seeking to thrive in an encouraging and challenging environment. Education
New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Newark, NJ Graduated: May 2018 Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering GPA: 3.0 Rutgers University Newark, NJ Attended 2013–2015
Projects & Experiences
Patents Liaison, L’Oréal USA Products, Inc. September 2019 – Present
All responsibilities correlate with a specialty in freedom-to-operate (FTO) analysis. The responsibilities include performing FTO studies by reviewing multiple patent searches related to particular formulas to avoid infringement upon third-party patents.
Successfully cleared and conducted over one hundred FTO studies for products that were being prepared to launch to market.
Effectively utilized a variety of patent databases and other related sources to conduct analysis.
Analyzing multiple cosmetic formulations and its chemical, physical and cosmetic properties related to its purpose as a product. This includes studying its chemical structure.
Appeared and testified as a witness in court during a deposition for a patent litigation. Chemical Patents Coordinator, L'Oreal USA Products, Inc. May 2019 – Present
Updating and retrieving patent content that is to be used and printed on L’Oreal packaging and products of formulas, devices, articles and websites. This process is referred to as patent marking.
Analyzing information related to chemical formulations on published patents and matching said information to chemical formulas of marketed L’Oreal products.
Responsibilities includes updating links and information on formula databases, patent databases and multiple excel tables as well as other related databases.
Analyzing multiple cosmetic formulations and its chemical, physical and cosmetic properties related to its purpose as a product. This includes studying its chemical structure.
Communicating and working with multiple attorneys to confirm legal information related to the patent marking process. Process Engineer, R&D Altanova May 2018 – May 2019
Maintaining and modifying the current manufacturing process that is still undergoing research and development while meeting deadlines to deliver products.
Gathering data by monitoring the behavior of chemical solutions to gauge the outcome when applying materials and possible changes to improve or maintain process.
Monitoring and advising technicians throughout the manufacturing process while guiding them through any sudden process changes and improvements.
Responsible for creating and running Design of Experiments (DOEs) processes to troubleshoot oncoming manufacturing roadblocks or when introducing new beneficial tools, materials, and equipment to the manufacturing process.
Emergency Coordinator of department - organize waste management for various spent chemical solutions as well as preventing possible chemical safety hazards.
Organize and maintain the working area and chemical solutions to make sure they are ready to use when needed including inventory coordination of all tools, materials and equipment. Undergraduate Research Assistant, Department of Chemical, Biological & Pharmaceutical Engineering Department Fall 2016 – Spring 2018 Advisor – Dr. Robert Barat
Developed an experimental assignment that will be implemented into NJIT’s Chemical Engineering curriculum under Chemical Engineering Lab II for the fall of 2018.
Developed detailed reaction mechanism simulations of the chemical reduction of 2 with either 4 or 2
during dry reforming or
reverse water gas shift reactions respectively under the influence of carboxylated carbon nanotubes on ANSYS Chemkin-Pro; Combustion Simulation Software.
Similar tactics used studying and developing reaction mechanism simulations considering 4 catalytic Methane Dehydroaromatization
(MDA) over Mo/zeolite catalyst.
MDA simulations conducted were invested towards a virtual experiment expanding a 3-step global MDA mechanism over various temperatures.
Interpretation, analysis and simulation had been expressed by organizing spread sheets on Microsoft Excel. Presentations & Publications
