Motivation letter for the post of research intern post

I wish to apply for the IICPSD research intern opening

As an electrical engineer, my four years’ experience in management, marketing and leadership has greatly contributed to my diligence and discretion in accomplishing tasks. Also my knowledge on clean energy and my passion to work for the UN prompts this application.

This is an interesting opportunity for me, to serve with UNDP, to complete professional formation and familiarize/acquaint myself with the climate, disasters and realities of the world.

I am interested in international development and cooperation, climate change, especially humanitarian projects. It gives an outstanding opportunity; for me to contribute and work with others in implementation of initiatives and projects, to the international community to have a dedicated and upright individual serve in a sustainable city, improving me personally and preparing me for future duties.

I have visited and contributed to 5 orphanage homes and 3 (internally displaced person) IDP camps in my home country in the past.

Thus, I have chosen to apply for this internship possessing stipulated functional requirements and personal skills.

As a Nigerian my cultural background, exploits and visits to other West African states and to 20 states out of the 36 in my country enhanced my sensitivity to cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age differences. Growing up in Nigeria, a country with multiple ethnic groups exposed me to diverse cultures and religion. My country has over 520 languages and over 250 dialects and ethnic groups.

and currently I am a migrant in Turkey, Istanbul; also rich in cultural heritage from its history as a Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman capital.

I am presently undergoing a master’s degree program in Power Electronics and Clean energy Systems at Okan University. The course is centered on developing clean energy generation and replacing non-clean energy to improve our climate. This is in line with the mission of UNDP, which is to eradicate poverty while protecting the planet.

My role as co-founder and project manager of Solad Global Power Technologies, a venture which specializes in clean energy power generation and installation helped strengthen my management, human relationship, organization, project/initiative implementation and mobilization skills.

Embedding me with professionalism, interpersonal communication skills, excellent conflict and complain resolution approach. I have the highest standard of integrity, discretion and loyalty.

I speak fluently and write excellently in English. I have strong analytical,aptitude and communication skills.

I have years of experience of appropriate goal driven interaction and representation on social media platforms, operating on e-commerce platforms and as a website administrator. - ( Solad Global power tech on facebook and instagram,etc).

I am result driven and career oriented. I work efficiently both independently and as part of a team to achieve given tasks while meeting deadlines.

I understand communication stakes and am committed to the respect and emancipation of human rights.

I am well versed in archives administration, records management, advocacy, planning and prioritizing work load to achieve desired result within the best time frame.

I am convinced I possess the right qualities and appropriate experience for this post.
