Project 1: Structural components Design of Bombardier 7500/8000 Series wings.

Client : Triumph Aero structures - Vought Aircraft Division

Role : Design Engineer.

Location : Cyient Limited, Hyderabad, India

Software : CATIA V5 R21, ENOVIA LCA, Enovia VPM.

Description:

The objective of this project is to design structural components of wing such as fairings, shrouds, ribs, bracket installations as per Bombardier Standards in CATIA V5. Following the design of detail parts, assemblies and installations are created and appropriate fasteners are selected. Repair solutions are provided by preparing Non-Incorporated Engineering Orders to manufacturing engineers request in collaboration with stress team. Creating program change requests for efficient design of components.

Responsibilities:

Study of Inputs, design manuals and interface structure.

Providing multiple design proposals that meet client requirement.

Responsible for creation of various structural components such as Fairings, Shrouds, Ribs, Brackets etc., by following machined and sheet metal design standards.

Creating Non-Incorporated Engineering Orders to provide rework solutions to particular shipments.

Providing GD & T using ASME Y14.5-2009.

Interact and provide necessary support to stress team to enable them to carry out stress analysis on the components.

Coordinate with stress team and optimize the design based on stress reports.

Interact and coordinate with client to understand and implement rework solutions.

Provide CATIA V5 models suitable for release into BA’s ENOVIA database for all detail parts and assemblies.

Create installation drawings and parts list and release the parts in ENOVIA.

PROJECT 2: Bombardier G7500 Wing structure Assembly Drill Templates

Client : Triumph Aero structures - Vought Aircraft Division

Role : Design Engineer.

Location : Cyient Limited, Hyderabad, India

Software : CATIA V5 R21, ENOVIA LCA, Enovia VPM.

Description:

Wing structures - Trailing edge, Leading edge, Flaps, Shroud Panels and Skin Panels are to be drilled for fasteners. Design Drill Templates from scratch at required locations using CATIA V5.

Responsibilities:

Study of Inputs and identify the location of the templates.

Design Template as per MCR from scratch.

Quality Check the Templates designed.

Create Manufacturing drawings and Bill of Material.

Discuss the challenges faced in execution/Inputs with co-ordinator/customer and resolve them with in specified time.

Get approvals for standard parts used in design from customer

Estimate the hours required for execution based on quantity of Templates.

Project 3: Interchangeability of LRUs (Line replace units) of G7500 aircraft components

Client : BOMBARDIER AEROSPACE

Software : CATIA V5, ENOVIA LCA, ENOVIA VPM.

Location : Cyient Ltd, Hyderabad.

Description:

The objective of this project is to investigate the interchangeability of LRU components of G7500 aircraft, to avoid additional cost in maintaining all configurations of spare parts to the In-service aircrafts by studying the individual designs of components and finding the possibility of parts interchangeability.

Responsibilities:

Study LRU components design of all available configurations.

Study BA Interchangeability decision matrix and apply it to the components.

Investigate the possibility of interchangeability between parts.

Define the ways of interchangeability such as 1-way, 2-way and qualified interchangeable

Categorize the parts based on interchangeability code.

Investigate appropriate rework sequence to make the part qualify for interchangeable with other configurations.

Provide detailed report to client for maintaining appropriate inventory for in-service aircrafts.

Project 4: Review of First Article Inspection (FAI) Reports.

Client : TRIUMPH AERO STRUCTURES (Texas, USA)

Software : CatiaV5, Net-inspect, SAP

Location : Cyient Ltd, Hyderabad.

Description:

First Article Inspection is one of the primary methods for the "inspection and testing of vendor components." The testing of a pre-production sample is considered essential in the process of approving an order or contract. The first article inspection should determine if the product meets acceptance requirements and quality control requirements. Customers who perform such inspections are recommended to identify this in the contract, and to use specific forms to document the results. FAI report consists of AS9102 Form-1, Form-2, Form-3 which gives the information about the Part Number Accountability, Product and Process Accountability- Raw Material, Specifications and Special Process (s), Characteristic Accountability- verification and Compatibility Evaluation respectively. FAI report has to be reviewed to ensure that the part has been manufactured as per the Customer specifications, EN standards, BS Specifications, MIL specifications, AMS specifications and other specifications acceptable.

Responsibilities:

To verify that the product meets acceptance and quality control requirements

In accordance with AS9102 standard. Read and interpret drawing and engineering specifications as per requirement.

Identify potential quality issues and concerns and report them to the Quality

Manager. Research corrective and/or preventative actions as applicable.

Inspection & Testing of vendor components by performing review of form-1,

form-2, form-3 for FAI as per AS9102 standards.

Verification of manufacturing process of aero structure components from the

work order provided by supplier.

Verify drawings, material certificate, process certificate, technical

specifications specified for the part.

Project 5: Configuration Data Management for Bombardier 7500/8000 Series wings.

Client : Triumph Aero structures - Vought Aircraft Division

Role : Design Engineer.

Location : Cyient Limited, Hyderabad, India

Software : CATIA V5 R21, ENOVIA LCA, Enovia VPM.

Description:

The objective of this project is to study in detail requirement of any part design that is intended to incorporate in G7500 A/C Wing, and to analyse the design with respect to its older versions and surrounding structure. Verifying whether all the design standards of BOMBARDIER AEROSPACE are met. Approving the design for further downstream activities such as Planning, manufacturing and assembling.

Responsibilities:

Study of Inputs, design manuals and interface structure.

Studying in detail design requirements.

Verifying the design standards as per BOMBARDIER AEROSPACE.

Verifying each and every part Design attribute.

Responsible for Approval and Rejection of Design.

Signing the approval of design in ENOVIA LCA.
