Duties & Responsibilities:

Understanding and compliance with all corporate, partnership, debt and other contractual documents for all assigned entities.

Timely review of monthly financial statements for assigned hotel properties and related entities including corporate consolidation and reporting of assigned hotel properties and ownership entities.

Management of debt, construction and other financing and capital transactions

Monitoring of hotel operations, cash flow and operating forecasts of assigned entities

Creation of annual budgets and monthly variance analysis for assigned hotel properties and their related entities.

Review and approval of monthly bank reconciliations and G/L reconciliations for assigned hotel properties and corporate entities.

Supervision of Regional Controller and staff in corporate accounting department as well as assigned hotel property Directors of Finance.

Review, approval and processing of disbursements.

Assist in onboarding new Hotels into High gate’s portfolio.

Assistance in the establishment, documentation and maintenance of Standard Accounting Policies and Procedures and internal controls for our finance and accounting operations.

Involvement with insurance and property tax administration of assigned hotel properties.

Successful completion of internal and external financial audits, including coordination of work with CPA firms and delivering information requested by auditors on a timely basis.

Preparation of any special reports, statements, etc., as requested.

Other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.

• Conduct monthly inspections and tests to ensure all departments are complying with required procedures.

• Perform duties as required by the Corporate/Regional Controller in respect of controls.

• Follow up on all capital expenditures to ensure compliance with original justification and approval.

• Assist and provide financial guidance in the formulation and implementation of the business plan, hotel and departmental budgets, and objectives program, and manage relevant budgets appropriately.

• Provide proactive administrative support to management with reference to policy enforcement, business advice and operational assistance.

• Obtain appropriate legal counsel regarding the business practices of the hotel, and maintains awareness of local rules, laws and regulations.

•Assist in maintaining a system of internal controls which will provide the most effective control of the assets and revenue of the hotel

•Assist in maintaining all accounting records of the hotel in the manner prescribed by the policy of Company.

•Ensure the safekeeping and updating of all leases and contracts and all other legal records and document which may affect the financial status of the hotel and follow up for the renewals of contracts expiring

•Supervise at the end of the month, the closing of the books and the subsequent timely preparation of the required financial data

•Ensure that local tax matters, including both income and other taxes, are properly handled

•Assist with the preparation financial statements (comparative balance sheet/statement of financial position, comparative income statement, comparative statement of cash flows, statement of changes in owners’ equity, statement of comprehensive income) for Audit Company and senior management and the board of Directors.

• Assist the financial controller in preparing the annual budget and forecast– prepares all allocations.

• Preparing monthly account reconciliations and financial analysis reports for management review.

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements throughout the fiscal year, including consolidation.
