A Predictive Control Of Resonant Inverter For Ultrasonic Cleaners

• This project work presents a model predictive control method for an inverter for piezoelectric ceramic transducer (PCTs) which can be utilized for industrial cleaning applications.

• The capacitor voltage is used to predict a future output value of the load of the PCT. The resonant inverter is operated at the suboptimal mode to minimize switching losses of the power switch.

• Power switches operate under zero voltage switching (ZVS) condition.

• The proposed method is straight forward and can be implemented on a digital controller provided.

• This work also presents the importance of predictive control applied in power electronics and drives.

• The equivalent circuit for piezoelectric ceramic transducer is assumed using RLC circuit. The simulation of system is done in Matlab.

• The Open loop and closed loop for inverter is done with model predictive controller and fuzzy controller.

• The comparison of both controllers is made.

• The hardware circuit for inverter is implemented. The inverter hardware is constructed, and the control algorithm is implemented using a PIC microcontroller. Certifications
