Served as a caregiver to children in the Shashemane community in Ethiopia (East Africa).
Provided volunteer and inexpensive quality child care services which encompassed nutritional meals and educational stimulation.
COMMUNITY FOLK CUTURE internship PROGRAM
Intern: July 2013 – Aug 2013 & July 2014 – Aug 2014
Paid intern at the Mind Builders Creative Arts Center’s Folk Culture Program researching street fashion, conducting field trips and engaging in videography/photography lessons.

Participate in an afterschool program that closes the gender gap in technology by providing females lessons in coding.
Learn computer science through projects in art, robotics, video game and web design to foster interest in the technology sector.
JUNIOR SCHOLARS PROGRAM Oct 2013 - April 2013
Engaged in Saturday sessions in a pre-college Black studies program at the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center.
Exposed to videos, seminars, workshops and cultural artifacts pertaining to the Black global experience.
Completion of the program culminated in a presentation at the Annual Youth Summit.
