Over 30 years of rich experience in Electrical & Automation- Maintenance in Steel Industry.

Presently working with Emirates Steel, Abu Dhabi as Head of Section- Electrical & Automation Steel Melt Shop since Nov, 2010.

Played a leading role in commissioning of 150 ton EAF & LRF, 5 strand combi caster & Main Sub Station, SVC, auxiliary plants like air separation, water treatment, compressed air, reverse osmosis, etc.

Coordinated closely with the EPC contractor M/s. Danieli, Italy during the project stage from cold commissioning till hot commissioning of the plant.

Participated in the cold trials of various equipments, raised non-conformity reports, and developed snag lists in coordination with the project consultant.

Prepared list of capital & operational spares and raise purchase requisitions in SAP.

Prepared PM activities for the works in SAP to be carried on repair days.

Head of Section -Electrical & Automation (Steel Melt Shop)

Emirates Steel is a direct subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Basic Industries

Corporation (ADBIC) strategically located in the Industrial City of

Abu Dhabi. The plant comprises of 3 gas based DRI modules with

a total capacity of 4.0 MTPY & 3 Steel Melt shops of 3.6 MTPY

capacity along with 5 rolling mills producing deformed bars &

heavy sections.

Job Profile

Played a leading role in commissioning of 150 ton EAF & LRF, 5 strand continuous combi caster (billets, bloom & beam blank) & auxiliary plants like air separation, water treatment, compressed air, reverse osmosis, etc.

Worked in closed coordination with the technology supplier M/s. Danieli, Italy from concept to commissioning.

Presently looking after the operation & maintenance of electrical and automation systems in steel melt shop.

Also involved in continuous improvement projects in all the Steel Melt Shops.

Jindal Shadeed Steel, Oman (July 2005 – Oct’ 2010)

Sr. DGM -Electrical & Automation (Dept. Head)

Jindal Shadeed Steel, Oman is owned by JSPL, India. The plant

comprises of a 1.5 MTPA gas based Midrex HBI plant with hot DRI

charging facility into EAF, 2.0 MTPY steel melt shop & Rolling Mill.

Job Profile:

Successfully commissioned 220/33/6.6 KV main substation comprising of 220 KV GIS, 33 & 6.6 KV Switchgears, SCADA system, Bay Control Units, Emergency Power system, etc.

Handled the commissioning of gas based DRI module (Midrex) & other utility services like Sea Water intake station, De-salination plant, Air Separation Plant, Main Substation, Shore Cranes, etc.

Was actively involved in the project from the engineering phase and also during the finalization of entire electrical & automation systems for the entire plant.

Qatar Steel Company (QASCO) is the first integrated steel

Company in the Arabian Gulf. The Company was established in

July 1974 and comprises of 2 DRI modules, 4 EAF’s of 80 ton

capacity each, 4 billet casters & rolling mill producing round &

deformed bars.

Job Profile:

Troubleshooting & Maintenance of all Electrical equipments, Automation systems including PLC’s (Siemens-S5/S7 based) related to gas based Midrex Direct Reduction plant.

Trouble shooting & Maintenance of 3Nos 80 ton Electric Arc Furnaces & Billet Casters.

Preparation of maintenance schedule, annual budget planning, spare parts planning, etc in ORACLE ERP system.

Preparation of technical specification, service requisition, purchase requisition for spares and new procurements.

Prepared complete test bench for SIEMENS S7 PLC in Qatar Steel for testing of PLC spares & also for training Qatari trainees & other maintenance staff.

Provision made in HEG for running the complete plant during PLC failure.

Single handedly liasoned with Oman Electricity Company & Regulatory Authority for the approval of 225 MW Power in Jindal Shadeed Steel, Oman.

Actively involved in developing Permit to Work procedure in Emirates Steel.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Possessing sufficient knowledge in MS Project, MS Word, Excel, MS Access. Having basic knowledge of C++ programming, TCP/IP Networking.
