Work Experience:

1.Worked with Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited (JPVL) as General Manager from Sep 2010 - May 2020

JPVL is a leading private power company of India, having 2 thermal power plants of 1820 MW and 1 hydroelectric power plant of 400 MW. Was based at Delhi Corporate Office of the Company, key job responsibilities were as under:

Coal Procurement and Logistics: Responsible for ensuring timely coal supplies to power plants, including planning for coal requirement, deciding on procurement mix, coordination with Coal India and its subsidiaries for supply of linkage coal, procurement of coal through e-auctions, negotiations with private vendors and procurement of coal from private vendors, indenting and arranging railway rakes, appointment and management of handling agents at loading points, claims submission etc.

Coal Linkage: Having complete knowledge of Coal Linkage/Fuel Supply Agreement right from preparation and submission of application to correspondence and follow up with various ministries for its approval, issuance of Letter Of Assurance and signing of FSA.

Allocation of Coal block Studying the eligibility, documentation, participation as team in the bid process and post allocation formalities.

Compliance and Coordination: Complying with various requirement of Ministry of Coal, CIL, Ministry of Railways and other agencies

2.Worked with Dallas Airmotive Inc.(DAI), USA, from 2007 to 2010

DAI is the world’s leading OEM-authorized, independent provider of services & supports with primary business of Repair and Overhaul of Aircraft Gas Turbine Engines. Company brings more than 75 years of experience in providing engine maintenance service to business aviation, regional airline, and government agencies worldwide. Heading India operations of the Company from Delhi, my key job responsibilities were as under:

Marketing, Planning and Operations: Worked as profit centre head for India operations, looking after entire marketing, planning and operations.

Coordination: Interface with scheduled airlines, non-scheduled charter operators, private aircraft owners and aviation agencies. Initiating engine overhaul sales lead, direct customers on latest engine technologies & support services, conduct techno-commercial support. Coordination with Engine Manufacturers like Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce etc.

3.Worked with Mitsui & Co., Japan from 1987 to 2007

Japanese Trading House, Mitsui deals in supplies of specialized machine for core sectors like Power, Oil & Gas, Industrial Projects, Aviation, Railways etc. Heading their India operations for sale of Power Projects and Aircraft Leasing, my key job responsibilities were as under:

Sale of Power Projects: Mitsui is the key supplier of Power Generation and Transmission projects and equipment produced by the leading international manufacturers. As Manager(Sales), India, I was responsible to identify the new power projects under the global funding arrangement, understand and map their technical & commercial specifications, prepare and submit the bids, technical and commercial negotiations, finalization of LOA, oversee the supplies, port clearance and delivery at the project sites, opening of LC and payment follow-up.

Aircraft Leasing: Full cycle of aircraft leasing business, involving regular interaction with different Scheduled Airlines to understanding their expansion requirement, making presentations and explaining to the deciding authorities about the benefits of leasing aircraft v. purchase of the same, preparing and submitting aircraft leasing proposals, negotiating and finalizing the deal, lease documentation, revenue assurance, maintenance coordination of aircraft, renewal of lease etc.

Coordination: Close coordination with different central and state ministries like Ministry of Power, Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Civil Aviation, DGCA, State Electricity Boards, NTPC/NHPC etc

Key Achievements:

Established Mitsui in India for Power Generation and Transmission Projects and Equipment and achieved annual sales revenue of Rs.400 Cr.

Successfully established aircraft leasing business for Mitsui in India

Increased total revenue of DAI in India from $1.5 Mn in FY 2007 to $6.0 Mn in FY 2010

Successfully executed the Fuel Supply Agreement with Coal India

Maintained nil power plant shutdown for coal requirement, for last 7 years
