Terrafugia / Lead Designer / Petaluma CA 2018 June - current Developing proof-of-concept EVTOL aircraft for production while integrating propulsion, battery cells, safety system, HMI controls, interior design, and ADA access. Laying down foundation for vehicle packaging, ergonomics, aero studies, and establishing corporate design language. Full-scale concept aircraft will premiere at Heli Expo in Atlanta in Spring of 2019. Mercury Marine / Contract Designer / Oshkosh WI 2017 Feb - 2018 Apr As the premium outboard marine engine manufacturer, Mercury is the market leader for fresh and salt water boating. I’ve come on board to develop their next generation mid-level and flagship engines which were introduced in 2018 Miami Boat Show. My work includes various aspects of the engines including exterior design, service point solutions, power latching, and engine cowl. Icon Aircraft / Contract Designer / Vacaville CA 2015 - 2017 Created for the EAA Air Show in Oshkosh WI, the fully-enclosed C5 Transporter is designed to carry the A5 safely and elegantly. Innovative design incorporates easy ingress / egress, custom extruded space frame, and composite sandwich load-bearing walls developed specifically for the project. Also features state-of-the-art lift system that insulates the A5 from road vibrations and the elements. Hoaloha Robotics / Consultant / Seattle, WA 2017 - 2018 Designed for hospitals and hospice care facilities, these robots can assist human staff in various tasks. Following strict engineering guidelines, the robot features expressive LCD digital face, articulating arms, and integrated tray to carry meals and medicine. Guided by infrared and radar sensors, it can navigate through complex moving and stationary obstacles. Features AI, video cameras, radar sensors, and rechargeable batteries.

Audio-Technica USA / Consultant / Torrance CA 2016 - current Incorporate brand strategy and product planning for their recently established professional kitchen appliance group Sushi Robot, focusing primarily in Japanese cuisine. Designed to facilitate the kitchen staff, current projects include maki (roll), nigiri (rice ball), and onigiri (rice triangle) machines, these machines are showcased in open-kitchen layout.

Boom Aerospace / Consultant / Englewood CO 2016 - 2017 Developed the corporate HQ lobby and showroom interior spaces for the aviation start-up, which plans to bring back supersonic air travel for the first and business class travelers. The space includes interactive wall, flight simulation, conference room, merchandize area, and information desk to bring back the glamour of Golden Age of Flying in the 60’s. Iron Gatsby Motorcycles / Partner / Huntington Beach CA 2011-2013 Developed custom, limited-run chopper motorcycles using SMS V-Twin crate engine. Focused on producing mostly custom components through Alias modeling, CNC milling, and 3D printing, an industry first for the custom chopper community. Also introduced formal industrial design process, introducing accurate tolerances, fit and finish, and component robustness. Vortex Motors / Lead Designer / Seattle WA 2009 - 2011 Vortex track car was the culmination of two years of development with the core group of dedicated engineers, designers, and technicians. We put together fully track-ready prototype in time for 2011 SEMA show. The 1500 lbs. vehicle featured modular space frame, near 50-50 weight balance, and turbocharged GM Ecotech engine producing over 350 HP. Hankook Tire provided the booth space and the showgirls for Vortex.

Photo Center Inc. / Partner / Costa Mesa CA 2005 - 2009 For the change of pace, I joined the printing business, catering to professional photographers and graphic designers. Introduced corporate clients such as Mattel, Volcom, Hurley, Mitsubishi, and other companies for large-format prints and graphic collaterals. In addition to working with design studios, we also focused on working with marketing and photo departments. Ford Motor Company / Senior Designer / Dearborn MI 1998 - 2005 Developed important segment-leading cars, SUVs, and trucks for the company such as the Taurus, Explorer, Expedition, F-150, F-250, and Flex. Show cars included Explorer Sportsman and Bronco. Participated in market research, consumer clinic, clay modeling, wind tunnel testing, track shake-down, and safety crash. Daily work encompassed meetings and presenting to upper management for product planning, product cycle, facelifts, trim levels, options, and variants College for Creative Studies / Adjunct Professor / Detroit MI 2003 - 2005 Developed project-based curriculum for upper level industrial design students. While strengthening existing curriculum, I established network between the students and professional designers.
