● As a PySpark developer created Transformations and Actions to build Data engineering pipelines to move snapshot and historical mdm (Mobile Device Management) data using AWS Glue, S3 and Spark 2.2 into ElasticSearch. Parquet files were used on S3 to improve performance and cost savings. Code was debugged using Glue developer endpoint and Jupyter notebook. Glue crawlers were used to build a data catalog.

● As a Big Data Architect on AWS to GCP migration: Provided consulting and advisory role in creation of Google Cloud infrastructure to support the migration from Cloudera on AWS to Google’s managed Hadoop platform. This project involved migration of 35 etl pipelines from PySpark on Cloudera to PySpark on Dataproc using SAFE agile project management framework involving Sprints and 4 PI’s (Program Increments).

● As a Product Owner for the Supply Chain Device Visibility Platform, I was responsible in creating product features to enable the customers to track devices which are in repair, in spare pool, inbound to customer and in operation. I was responsible for moving the product from Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to creating a finished product.

● As a Big Data Architect was involved in Data Modeling in ElasticSearch, Hive and PostgreSQL so that Dashboards can be run faster and within SLA’s . This involved bringing to conclusion discussions with Multiple stakeholders, Data engineers, DBA’s, Product Management personnel and User Interface developers. Emory University. 05/2012-04/-2017

● As a Data Architect Created a Denormalized Star Schema Data Model for stabilizing Universities Security Portal to make it a scalable and reliable application. Partitioned several Oracle tables using Interval Partitioning and wrote PLSQL scripts to drop older partitions and to archive data. Currently in the process of upgrading Oracle from 11.2.0.4 to Oracle 12.2.

● As a Big Data Architect built a Cassandra service and installed/created/partitioned/queried and backed up several Cassandra nodes in a cluster. Recently helped in migrating Cassandra 2.2.5 to Cassandra 3.1.1. Added nodes and decommissioned nodes to resize cluster using nodetools

● Managing Standalone Mongo service: For Champs Child Health and Mortality Prevention (Champs) Built and monitored Mongo database service with Data at rest for customer using a Security appliance Vormetric and Mongo Cloud Manager. Helped Customer troubleshooting Json queries. Completed upgrading Mongo from 3.2.9 to 3.6. The database was primarily being used to ingest unstructured data.

● AWS Security Control Policies Enablement: Building Test cases so that data is secure in the cloud for the following AWS services: AWS RDS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Mariadb), Dynamodb, Aurora Cluster

(MySQL and Postgres), Amazon Redshift, Elastic Cache. Enabled SSE-KMS for data at rest and downloaded certificates for Data in motion.

● AWS Cloud DB creation cookbooks: Created low cost AWS footprint by creating new AWS CLI based scripts so that Development template database in AWS RDS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Mariadb) and DynamoDB, Aurora can be built on the fly and shutdown during off peak hours.

Developed Ansible scripts to create new database users on multiple environments. Programmed Ansible’s jinja2 templates to configure the my.cnf file to install MySQL databases on a number of hosts. Deployed ClamAV and Ubuntu Unattended upgrades using Ansible scripts. These playbooks were then put into Git and associated with Ansible Tower so that runbook automation can be performed. Ansible Cookbook for SQL Server: Used Terraform to bootstrap python on a target AWS Windows server so that Ansible can install SQL Server using Ansible playbooks. These scripts were then put into Github by using push and pull.

● Scaled up customer traffic on a 4 node Oracle 11g RAC/ASM by performing SAN migrations, OCR/voting disk migrations, node addition and deletion and performance tuning.
