Volunteer Experience
UTHSCSA, August 2006-May 2009. Participated in numerous service opportunities serving South Texas communities. My community service project was, a month of service as a camp counselor at Camp Get Fit, in Carrizo Springs, Texas. As a counselor, I help to organize several fun physical activities and healthy eating menus for children ranging from elementary to high school. I also participated in the South Texas Environmental Education and Research (STEER) in Laredo, TX. The program provided a community-based opportunity that connects public health, the environment, and medicine. Other activities include volunteering at the San Antonio Shoes Health Fair, performing school physicals for Southeast Baptist Hospital Bike Rodeo, performing health screening on faculty and employees during the UTHSCSA health fair, student volunteer for PA program interviews, performing physicals for Girl Scout Camp Mirasol.
