To whom it may concern

I confirm that I have known Hendrik Johannes Olwage (Johann, ID No. 910-***-**** 080) for 27 years.

I have also known Johan’s parents for more than 40 years. The first-rate up-bringing he had—which is evident today in his day to day living—makes him an asset for the community he lives and works in.

Johann has been employed in the workplace where he worked in the Church Office from 23 August 2018 until 21 February 2019 and we can commend him for his excellent and dedicated service in the office.

With his irreproachable conduct and attitude to work hard, he will make a success of any job he is suitable for.

Johan is one of my right-hand men in the Kimberley congregation and I use him as the song- leader for the congregation due to the fact that he proved himself to be a reliable person. He is also allowed to give sermonettes (short 12-minute sermons) to the congregation and he has proved himself to be of deacon material and will be ordained as such in the very near future.

I have found Johan to be dependable, obedient, conscientious, honest and a courteous young man at all times.

Yours faithfully,

Christo Botha

Minister, SA Office Manager

Work experience:

I worked at Hungry Jack’s for five years. For three years I was a staff member and for the rest of the two years I was a manager and I stepped up into the boots of management really well. My responsibilities was the following:

I was in charge of rostering all of the staff members so I had to work out the labour for each week and then roster the staff members according to what we can afford and how busy it will get. We had a budget for each week, month and three month period so I always had to keep that in mind also. I was also placed in charge of maintenance. We had a lot of expensive equipment that needed regular maintenance. This was my job to make sure that this maintenance was done to all of our equipment. As with our Labour the Maintenance also had a budget that I needed to keep in mind when other equipment needed to get there maintenance done. So we would sometimes have two or three of the same type of equipment so that we can rotate them and maintenance them as we had the chance this meaning when we had the money for it. I was placed in charge of all the computer programs also. We got a new system and I was the only one that knew the system 100%, so I was placed in charge of the computer department also. If there was any problems with the software or program they were using I would get a call. I was on call 24/7 and always had to be ready to help or to go to work and fix the problem there at the store. What I had to do on a daily basis was-I got to the store and as soon as I stepped out of the car my shift started. I had to do a travel path and make sure the car park is clean and the windows of our building has been cleaned and that there is no cigarette buds anywhere and rubbish is out of our garden and that there is no rubbish laying around. I would then walk into the store and greet all of our customers and all of our staff members and talk the manager on shift and see how the day was and compliment them on their hard work if they reached their goals. Before I take over my shift I make sure that all the crew members are present for my shift and I talk to each of them individually to make sure that they know what I expect of them and they know what they need to do today. So we are all on the same page and have the same goal that we can drive towards! When I have finished talking to all of them I then walk around and check all the preps. Making sure that it is timed correctly and that we have no expired meat products of salads. I also check that there are no cross contamination anywhere in the store. When I am happy that everything is up to my standard I tell the manager that I am happy with their work we swap shifts. When I am in charge now I am constantly walking and talking telling my crew members what to do and making sure that they are all focused on the goal at hand. Always motivating them and firing up the team. We are a team. Together we can do it I always encourage them.
