WORK EXPERIENCE
PBF Energy, Process Engineering, Paulsboro, NJ May 2019 – August 2019 Process Engineering Intern
• Modeled and Improved flow/pressure to safety showers per OSHA regulations using PIPE-FLO Professional software
• Identified biological fouling in sections of piping that the model predicted to have high pressure buildup
• Used ASPEN process simulation software to validate outputs of remotely controlled analyzers with results from QC
• Understood the purpose/inner workings of each unit in the refinery as well as their interdependence with one another
• Worked on various capital projects such as upgrading the metallurgy on an existing heat exchanger, reducing octane giveaway, and upgrading various pumps
Center for Composite Materials, Materials in Extreme Dynamic Environments, Newark, DE May 2018 – December 2018 Research Intern under Army Research Laboratory
• Measured the number and location of fiber breaks as a function of applied strain through image analysis using a Keyence VHX Digital Microscope
• Prepared pre-strained, single-fiber S-glass/Epoxy composite samples for single-fiber fragmentation testing
• Used MTESTQuattro software and a screw-driven MTI mini-tensile tester to perform single-fiber fragmentation tests
• Measured the interfacial debond length of fiber breaks as a function of applied strain using ImageJ processing program
• Determined the fiber-strength distribution at gauge length corresponding to the ineffective length of the fiber [~400 micron] based on the fragmentation test results
COIM USA, Quality Control Laboratory, West Deptford, NJ June - August 2017, January - February 2018 Quality Control Intern
• Prepared various chemicals/tested their absorbance using a Fourier-transform infrared/near-infrared spectrometer
• Generated calibration curves from the spectrometer data using PerkinElmer Spectrum/Quant software
• Validated calibration curves by using them to correctly predict the amount of hydroxyl group present in each chemical SOFTWARE SKILLS
• Proficient in ASPEN, SIMULINK, PIPE-FLO, Origin, MTESTQuattro, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, PerkinElmer Spectrum Quant
