Recruited as a software developer to develop a new Hotel Information System (HIS). Working as a free-lancer, analyzed, designed, and implemented an integrated HIS within 3 years followed by testing, documentation, continuous improvements, and support.
Sub-systems included: Front-office, Reservation, Cost-Control, Financial Accounting, WMS, Payroll, Treasury, POS, Fixed Assets. The system is still being used in the hotel.
The most important achievements of HIS implementation:
A remarkable increase in room sales aided by the reservation system. The room occupancy rate increased from 70% to 130%.
Online calculations of Cost of Goods Sold by the Cost-Control system. The system calculates COGS for each sales transaction using Weighted-Average, FIFO, and Last-Purchase price, simultaneously.
Raw-materials purchase forecasts.
