Team focused Human Resources Professional with experience in HR Management combined with extensive knowledge of HR best practices, talent management, employee training & development, safety regulations, benefits and employment law. Staffing, team building and safety compliance along with behavioral corrective methodology expertise adds value to driving high-level performance and decisive HR solutions. Versed in team based action plans which include the implementation of organizational safety performance metrics, cultural transformation methods and continuous improvement tools through lean manufacturing.
A proven culture changer, with a history of managing HR teams in the following Industries: Automotive, Manufacturing, Services and Healthcare.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Safety / Risk: Led efforts to achieve lowest accident rates (’93 17.76% vs. ’00 3.04%) and reduced worker’s compensation exposure from $492k to $28k during same period; furthermore, coordinated and managed all Safety audits, EPA inquiries and annual OSHA training requirements; Accomplished “full compliance” results from OFCCP compliance review and multiple (SCDLLR – State OSHA) inspections.
Cost Effective: Increased retention of key employees by modifying company health and benefit plans to foster a more “family-friendly” corporate culture. The program paid for itself and did not increase corporate costs through working with benefit plan brokers to achieve cost savings in other areas.
Innovative: Implemented a Safety Review Panel which was an innovative “peer-review” system, in a manufacturing operation, that dramatically decreased injury and accident rates by 60% which allowed the company to negotiate a much more favorable insurance package which doubled the scope of existing coverage without any increase in employer premiums or employee contributions.
Successful Change Agent: Resolved interdepartmental rivalries by creating a targeted action plan which included: (1) Making modifications to the organizational chart; (2) Developing interdepartmental communication procedures, and; (3) updating and clarifying job descriptions including direct report responsibilities. Considerable skill and diplomacy as a change agent was required to overcome significant resistance to change.
Transformational Leader: Achieved a “cultural transformation” by increasing employee engagement and reversing negative employee perceptions regarding their supervisors by: (1) Introducing individual employee development plans and training supervisors in their application; (2) Intensive training of supervisors regarding correct performance management and conflict resolution procedures, and; (3) Implementation of an employee rewards and recognition program with active supervisor involvement.
