FDA Submittal:
Sector Medical Corp, Acworth, Ga, has received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its obstructive sleep apnea syndrome screening device. Called ApLab, the device produces a complete record of breathing during sleep. With this tool, physicians can review the number of apneas and hypopneas, their duration, and other respiratory events, such as normal breathing, snoring, upper-airway resistance, and respiratory arousals. The company has several additional products in the pipeline, including a disposable screening device and a low-cost diagnostic device.
