Hermes

Project Hermes is an Online Non-Prescription Ordering System, a means by which health service employees can order non-prescription items such as wound care products via an easy to use HTML based web browser. Because this is non-prescription ordering, routing via a GP for signature becomes redundant and the whole ordering process becomes less arduous and time consuming. The orders are routed directly from the HERMES system to a pharmacy or supplier of choice for fulfillment thus reducing the need for paperwork again cutting costs from the NHS system. The local pharmacist is provided with an online interface that allows the pickup and subsequent fulfillment of orders. Each system is configurable at PCT level to allow bespoke use. HERMES offering has a built-in clinical audit facility which would therefore not only allow monitoring of product use but also appropriate use and would highlight educational needs. In essence HERMES is an attractive, easy to use system that helps the NHS to control cost and clinical choice. SSIS package used for uploading the price list of non-prescribed products by NHS.
