Senior Software Consultant 1989-2002

Lead software test analyst in group of 10 engineers for Solid Edge functionality; ensured testing procedures, documentation, and execution required by ISO 9001 standards. Created 2-D drawings of products to ensure manufacturability. Developed visual basic programs including part, assembly, and draft recomputes processing large customer datasets to identify regression errors. This was a huge (100x) time saver for regression testing as the product migrated from an ACIS to Parasolid kernel. Built Microsoft Access database for storing and executing simulating customer workflows for validation testing. Point of contact for all Navy customer calls regarding I/FEM software. Instructor for I/FEM application software and wrote I/FEM 2.0 New Features Guide.

Technical Manager 1985-1989

Responsible for support contracts at three NASA facilities, managing 23 engineers supporting hardware, software, and application activities. Presented custom configuration management software to engineers, and assisted with yearly contract negotiations. Directed and administered software development projects including analysis of the Challenger space shuttle and Payload Operations Control Center (POCC). Support contracts grew from 5 to 23 engineers during my tenure as Manager

Customer Engineer 1984-1985

Provided software Support, Training, and QA Testing of Intergraph’s mechanical CAD products. Key achievements included:

Developed and instructed using my own training material/content, a departure from all existing curriculum, resulting in a much more effective method of teaching MCAD software. Scores from my students averaged 4.5/5.0 and management later adopted material I created for use in other classes.

Selected from the company/management to go on site and diffuse an unhappy customer, Wright Patterson Airforce Base, providing technical support of Intergraph’s hardware and mechanical software products

On-site support engineer at MSFC assisting / training NASA engineers with Intergraph application software.

Developed a 3-D solid model of the first conceptual design of NASA’s space station. Provided training and technical support to both Martin Marietta and Boeing during contract bidding on Space Station

After hours and not part of my role as a Customer Engineer, taught FORTRAN and Pascal classes in the Intergraph Technical Training Program (ITTP)

PRADCO OUTDOOR BRANDS – Decatur, AL 2006-2010

Vice President/General Manager

Full responsibility of two companies in the outdoor industry primarily designing plastic injection and blow molded consumer products. Accomplishments and experience acquired include:

Improved net profit by $150,000 from FY2006 to FY2007 despite losing major peg space

Overall P&L/decision control with annual presentations to management on the state of the companies

Analyzed P&L data and EBITDA ratings for potential company acquisitions, and reviewed sales/cost data to improve net profit. Increased net profit 3% by using a variety of cost reduction measures, including moving depreciated inventory

Involved in all interaction with attorneys and negotiations of legal issues including lawsuits, arbitrations, patent infringements, and trademark violations.

Sales – Attended and presented at all big boxes, including Bass Pro, Cabelas, Academy, Gander, and Dick’s Sporting Goods as well as Buying Groups. Negotiated all pricing, terms, and unique agreements with key accounts.

Engineering – involved in all new product development and associated patents filed, issued, and pending. Took into consideration shipping costs/container loads when designing new products

Marketing - responsible for all tv/print budget and advertising designs

Manufacturing – oversaw all manufacturing for in house production with some international sourcing.

Managed transition of shipping and production services from Arkansas to Alabama to reduce costs by 7% over a 3-year time period.
