WORK EXPERIENCE
Solar Turbines Inc. San Diego, CA
Engineering Assistant Summer 2020
• Program Optical Character Recognition to extract information from and highlight abnormal conditions in PNIDs Solar Turbines Inc. San Diego, CA
Engineering Assistant Summer 2019
• Followed the Agile Development model to communicate and demonstrate progress with mentors and managers
• Utilized Excel VBA to create a ventilation fan selection tool which intakes engine specifications and informs user of suggested fans, while taking into account different fan placements, ducting configurations and site conditions
• Tool calculates fan volumetric flow rate, associated pressure drop, operating power, and engine exhaust temperature
• Presented project results to SPE department, as well as Solar executives and University representatives University of San Diego – Math Learning Center San Diego, CA Mathematics Tutor September 2018 - Present
• Assist peers in learning and understanding math topics ranging from Algebra to Multivariable Calculus
• Devise personalized strategies and adjust teaching style to best cater to each student’s individual needs ENGINEERING PROJECTS
Heat Exchanger CFD Analysis Summer 2020
• Prepared geometry, created mesh, and analyzed the heat transfer of an open-tank heat exchanger in an ice bath using ANSYS Fluent
Mobile Steam Collaboratory Transport Trailer (MSC) Fall 2019 – Spring 2020
• Designed, built, and tested a modular infrastructure to safely support and secure equipment enclosed in the MSC
• Modeled the MSC’s heat transfer due to convection and radiation heating from the Sun using ANSYS Fluent
• Determined critical vibration frequencies throughout the trailer by gathering data using an accelerometer connected to a Raspberry Pi, exporting as a CSV file, and performing post-processing analysis through a Python script Air Powered Wobbler Engine Fall 2018
• Machined, assembled, and optimized all components of a wobbler engine using a lathe, mill, and drill press Elevator Project Fall 2017
• Designed and created a mock elevator that receives user input and delivers the elevator car to the desired location
• Utilized laser cutter, magnetic field sensors, and Raspberry Pi to fabricate, wire, and program elevator for any variation of user input
