Dear Hiring Manager,

I am responding to an advertisement for Product Manager at your company. I saw the listing and felt it was an intriguing opportunity and a position I am well suited for. My background consists of working as a developer, technical sales, and 5+ years as a product manager for 4CS. For the past 9 years I have been founder and CEO of a small software company that supplies an end to end solution for Home Warranty companies that market extended warranty plans for homes. Over the 9 years I brought the company from an idea in my head to a very full featured SaaS based product that is used by both small and large warranty companies with 10's of thousands of users. In the first 2 years of the business I put on my developer hat and wrote the initial version of the application, which was Java based with a Postgresql SQL backend. The application also integrated into several 3rd party systems to provide address validation, tax calculation, geo-location, and credit card processing. In May of last year I decided to sell the business and have since been doing some consulting at the new organization to insure their continued success. I have a20+ years of experience from development, to sales, to managing development teams.

The following highlights from my resume demonstrate the value I would provide to your firm:

Built Home One Warranty, a SaaS-based hosted warranty solution, from scratch including all business functionality (contract management, plan pricing, invoicing, subscriptions, communications, etc.), service portals, and API integration for credit card processing, mapping, tax calculation, etc.

Sold the Home One Warranty product into 20 organizations of all sizes, garnering tens of thousands of users and generating $750,000 in annual sales.

15+ years of Product Management experience, CRM experience, and contact with all state holders in an organization.

Unique ability to communicate with C level executives and understand their needs as well as being able to roll up my sleeves to write code, or communicate requirements to development teams.
