PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Safety/Security/Transportation Manager, Brewster Place Retirement Community- June 2018- Present
I am responsible for 37 employees in three departments on all shifts. That includes budgeting, performance management, scheduling, as well as training recruiting and hiring my direct reports. I conduct Leadership training for new and inexperienced supervisory staff. I conduct all complex investigations for the Human Resources Department. I am responsible for ensuring that all daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections are completed per regulatory requirements. I crafted significant Emergency Operations policies and protocols; Including the Emergency Operations Plan, Active Shooter Response, Pandemic Control and Mitigation, and the Respiratory Protection Program. I have revised and improved the Regulatory and Employee Safety programs. I revamped the accident investigation procedure and forms, trained all supervisory staff on conducting Safety Investigations, created quarterly Manager Safety walks with department managers to identify potential hazards and created a near-miss tracking and follow-up program.
I am certified to conduct Emergency Response Exercises. I have completed Incident Command System training courses: ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, ICS 800, ICS 300.
I completed the OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health certification in June of 2019 and OSHA 30 General Industry certification in May of 2020.
Deputy Chief of Staff/ Chief Investigator, Shawnee County District Attorneys Office- June 2011- May 2018
While functioning as the Deputy Chief of Staff my job was to support the 20 plus prosecutors in the DAO. I was tasked with resolving IT issues with PC’s and phones, creating maps and electronic trial presentations, resolving facilities issues, talent recruitment and hiring, and ensuring that Investigators, Victim/Witness Specialists, and Legal Assistants support prosecution efforts. I was responsible for employee safety training, testing and work station modifications. As the Chief Investigator I was tasked with managing all aspects of the Investigations Division, which includes conducting criminal and follow-up investigations, serving as the liaison between law enforcement agencies in Shawnee County and the DAO, responsible for vehicle fleet management and Investigations training coordinator.
I completed the following projects:
Electronic Discovery transfer- A multi-agency project that saved more than $60,000.00 in its first year
Created a performance management matrix and accompanying annual employee evaluation
Created multi-tear job descriptions for all DAO positions

As an Operations Resource I was assigned to manage the four Corn Processing/Packaging lines on 3rd shift. I had 32 direct reports and five budget units for which I was responsible. I held assignments in three departments on all three shifts during which I managed more than thirty direct reports working in multiple processes that require very close attention to quality and detail. I was responsible for inventory auditing and reconciliation, daily press staffing, work-flow management, annual performance measure design and tracking, performance management, and extensive project management. I completed 60 hours of training and hold over five years of experience with LEAN Six Sigma.
Managed several successful process improvement efforts, which include quality system revisions in two assignments, LEAN implementation in Reproduction, standard operating procedure revisions in Box Specialty and Reproduction, implemented a total preventative maintenance program on the large format printing press fleet, and a LEAN supplies management system.

As the Chief of Police in Overbrook, Kansas I managed ten paid and reserve Police Officers. I started as a Patrol Officer in April of 1995 then was promoted to the position of Chief of Police in August 1997.
Tasked with creating the monthly work schedule and managed all patrol and investigative efforts
Planned and executed the department’s budget and managed all departmental human resource issues.
Developed the first operating procedure manual and standard training guideline for the department.
Primary trainer for officer safety and traffic accident investigation.
