PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Sitara Peroxide Limited 1st Dec, 2016 – Till Now

Sitara Peroxide Limited is first Hydrogen Peroxide Plant in Pakistan's. It consists of Power Generation Unit, Auxiliary Boiler Unit, R.O unit, Waste Heat Recovery System, Natural Gas Handling system, Gas Engines and Water Treatment System.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

My job responsibilities include maintenance, modifications, Installation, Testing, commissioning, start up and trouble shooting of following electrical equipments.

SWITCHGEAR & BREAKERS:

There are following switchgear and breakers at H2O2 side.

One Common HT Switchgear from both Transformer (3500KVA & 2000KVA)

Two Siemens HT switchgear (11KV incoming) VCB

One Siemens HT switchgear (6.6KV incoming) VCB

One Siemens LT switchgear (440 V out going) ACB

I was involved in Checking Insulation resistance, Contact Resistance, moving and fixed parts lubrication, Closing and Tripping coil condition & resistance, Power and control cable connection.

HT & LT MOTORS:

HT Motor:

Worked on HT Three Phase Induction Motor (Squirrel Cage Rotor) made by WEG (Italy)

Important Specifications: (6.6 KV, 127 Amp, 1725 HP, 2980 rpm, PF = 0.91)

With COOPER COMPRESSOR (Turbo-Air 6000 Centrifugal Compressor)

LT motors:

I worked on LT induction motors, rating from 0.5 KW to 250 KW. There are five motors in the Area I in which one motor (250 KW) is attach with Natural Gas Compressor. There are thirty, fourteen and twenty three LT induction motors in Area II, Area III and Area IV respectively, I have also worked on bearing replacement of motors.

VARIABLE SPEED DRIVES:

Soft Starter:

At the plant four cooling tower motors (132 KW) are controlled by Siemens Soft Starter and one COOPER Compressor motor (1286 KW) is controlled by Benshaw Soft Starter.

Frequency Converter:

At the plant Natural Gas Compressor Motor (200KW) starting technique is controlled with Frequency Converter

UPS:

Operation & maintenance of two 10 KVA, one 15 KVA & one 40 KVA UPS.

CHILLERS:

Operation & maintenance of Century 150 ton liquid chiller with 125 KW motors.

MANAGING RESPONSIBILITIES:

As I joined this organization as an engineer so I availed full opportunities of involvement in all the activities of E & I for procurement, Installation, Commissioning start up and Trouble Shooting. My activities are as under:-

Develop staff job descriptions.

Develop daily, weekly and monthly check sheets and also prepare preventive maintenance schedule for E&I

Development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental objectives, and participate in daily plant meeting, development plans and performance review of plant.

Initiate, implement and manages the plant maintenance programs related to electrical, instrumentation, control system based on best practices in the continuous process chemical industries.

Manage to maintain all units of the plant in perfect working order by carrying out preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, attending breakdowns, planning and executing shutdown jobs of the plant.

Manage and monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies & equipment and initiate indenting when necessary.

Manage and supervise E & I personnel and ensure that all staff adequately trained, equipped and motivated so that the maintenance activities can be accomplished timely, in cost effective manners Estimate and prepare revenue, capital and special maintenance budget, and after its approval, monitor and control the revenue budget and ensure execution of capital & special maintenance budget jobs according to laid down engineering standards with in agreed approved cost.

Manage to ensure the section has a disciplined workforce and communicate regularly with E & I staff to ensure good two way communication concerning maintenance issues.

For training in different disciplines of Water and Power Wings, arrangements have been made at WAPDA Engineering Academy Faisalabad. I have taken the training of Generation, Transmission & Distribution of electricity and further about the testing of power transformers, Insulation resistance of power cables, CTs & PTs, insulator types, jointing techniques of ACSR conductors, HT & LT relays and visits of Gatti Grid Station and Thermal power plants of Faisalabad.
