The Field Security Coordinator is responsible to ensure the safety and security of all staff in the field in Badghis Province as the country is classified as an insecure complex humanitarian environment. Required to have good contact with internal and external sources, especially with local communities where World Vision operates. This position requires regular travel to the field in order to ensure regular security risk assessments have been conducted to minimize the risk to the WV staff, assets, and programs. The Field Security Coordinator should follow the WV Afghanistan security strategy on ‘’acceptance approach’’ by maintaining good contact with the local communities WV works with at the field level

Establish or build upon existing relationships with other NGOs, Agencies, and government departments, local communities, establishing a comprehensive information-sharing network. This requires regular travel to the field (Twice a week) in order to update the SRAs and actor mapping. This is for the safety and security of the WV staff, assets, and programs.

As a matter of safety and security, ensure that all staff receives the relevant security briefing before they travel to the field. This requires preparing a briefing document for the staff.

Support the National Office and Zonal Office incident management team in the event of a security emergency. Field support is required. Prepare guard management and guard performance SOPs. Prepare SOPs related to field operations.

In consultation with Security Manager prepare SOPs related to drivers. Participate in the INSO and other security-related meetings and share the meeting details with the security management.

Conduct monthly physical inventory of the available first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and other security-related equipment. This includes fixing the damaged assets should it require.

Especially during holidays and nights. Also, ensure checking the WV premises during late nights to ensure guards are vigilant. Having smooth fleet management and project/support function demands are met
