Professional Experience:

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects Engineers Planners, Inc. - Orlando, Florida

Director of Technology & Facilities (8/1998 to 2/2020)

Promoted to Executive leadership role accountable for maintaining all buildings, business application and computer systems (LAN & WAN). Collaborated with the President to develop short and long-range technology strategy and growth planning. Planned, coordinated and executed all maintenance, hardware and software upgrades. Served as main resource for daily support operations and providing assistance on most complex issues. Also, cultivated and maintained relationships with multiple hardware, software, office equipment and telecommunication services providers and vendors. Selected projects…

Successfully managed and participated in multiple company-wide development, testing, implementation, building construction/remodel (Bldg. 2, Philadelphia and Boston) and overall upgrades to servers, desktops, phone systems (Cisco-VOIP), network backend upgrades (HD, components, switches. routers), tape backup libraries and operational procedures, hybrid Active Directory (Azure) and development of

“production (CADD)” environment in the cloud. These combined efforts enabled the company to grow from a 50-person, one-office local architectural firm to a nationally recognized, 300-person, four-office full service AEC firm.

Initiated and helped developed numerous transformative IT policies and procedures designed to strengthen system stability, scalability, access and availability, resiliency and security. Also, spearheaded the implementation of a companywide “Help Desk” system.

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, LLC – Orlando, Florida Computer Systems Manager (5/1992-8/1998)

Started in ’92 with 3 CADD computers (386’s) and an old HP pen plotter on a “sneaker net.” Researched, purchased and installed many firsts: first coax then ethernet networks, first file server (4 gb. HD), numerous networked HP printers & plotters, several HP/Lenovo SAN, MS Exchange server (email), Active Directory server, developed most early CADD standards and procedures, allowing C&P to continue to grow from 12 to 100 employees. During this time, I also acted in the HR capacity (evaluating resumes/talent, interviewing, hiring & terminating) as our growth required more employees. I continued in this role thru approximately 100 employees – 1 key accomplishment was developing and managing our college internship program in partnership with Ball State University in Muncie, IN. At its height, we had approximately 18-20 interns or employees from BSU. I also continued to work as civil site planner on many retail/shopping center projects, ran a small raster to vector cad conversion company with Mr. Peterson (Central Florida CADScan), helped develop, setup and manage an internal printing company (Central Fl. Printers) and designed, built or helped build much of the office fixtures, furniture, office equipment and all computer systems during this period.

Selected projects…

Researched, designed and built first network, first CADD environment, developed first CADD standards, researched, purchased and implemented our second CADD environment with UNIX/PC for a large Microstation client. Continued to maintain Day-to-Day operations of all computers systems (servers, desktops, upgrades and peripherals). Designed and helped build several office expansions projects (Eola Park Tower) and ultimately, located, negotiated, help design and oversee construction of company’s next three office spaces (Alden Road Main, Annex and Bldg. #3). Blasland, Bouck & Lee Engineers - Orlando, Florida Draftsman/Field Tech (5/1991 to 4/1992)

Basic field investigation of environmental hazards or contamination events. Documented, measured, took photographs/video, drafted in CADD and created reports for engineers’ review. Made any necessary updates.

Engineering Management & Design, Inc. (formerly Larry T. Ray & Assoc.) - Orlando, Florida Civil Designer/Systems Manager (1987 to 5/1991)

Started as engineering designer and draftsman for typical civil land projects (subdivisions, site plans, hotels, etc.) but quickly transitioned to Systems management upon the company being awarded the GOAA (OIA) Airside II “Master Stormwater Plan” contracts. Worked with GOAA and staff to integrate proper procedures for all civil work into GOAA master plan (GRID) system to unify approximately 150 associated reports, programs, studies and subprojects. Also helped Autodesk develop and produce 90 sec. video about some of the work GOAA was doing and the systems we were using – 90 sec. took approx. 4 months to develop. During this time, continued troubleshooting, upgrades, installations, maintenance and repair to all LTR’s computer systems, software, hardware and peripherals. Unfortunately, after contracts completed, the company went out of business.
