Chief Engineer (2000 to 2019)

Manage department consisting of, at various times, 2 engineers, 2 designers, and 2 lab/service technicians. Lead the team to accomplish stated company goals. The activities included new product development, technical support for sales team, cost reduction activities, and service of returned products.

Built engineering team that developed a planetary line of oilfield winches with ratings of 50,000 pounds line pull to 130,000 pounds line pull.

Developed line of planetary hoists for mobile crane applications with ratings of 5,000 pounds line pull to 21,000 pounds line pull creating a new product line.

Provide technical support to our sales team. Travel to customer sites to develop the best solution to their application.

Performed stress analysis using FEA module within Solid Works.

Developed analysis tools using Microsoft products to create performance tables used for sales brochures and web site information.

Performed life cycle testing of new products. Designed test, fixtures, and circuitry to automate testing.

Performed testing to certify products to SAE J706, ASTM B30.5 standards.

Traveled domestically and internationally (China & Mexico) to validate suppliers for castings and machined components.
