Research Associate I, Department of Otolaryngology, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine - October 2018 to May 2019 – Mouse Lab
Lab used mice with knock-out/in mutations for various genes related to genetic deafness, Alzheimer’s, or autism
Goal was to understand molecular mechanisms of disease in the animal model
Maintained 11 mouse colonies which included keeping cages within guidelines, organizing cages, record keeping, and genotyping the animals
Other duties involved assisting behavior tests such as ABR and fear conditioning, fixing mice heads for brain and cochlear dissection, or intraperitoneal injections
