Extra information:
As a young lad my Mum was diagnosed with MS, we were allocated an adapted bungalow adjacent to a residential home for people with disabilities, we visited there on a regular basis and made many friendships.
Later in life I worked for five years as a Branch Manager for William Hill, at this time I found myself unhappy and disillusioned with living in London so decided on a change of direction, I volunteered with CSV and was posted to Edinburgh where I assisted a young disabled gentleman with his studies at Napier where he was studying for a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource management, I also acted as his scribe during final exams, which happily he passed. I then decided to stay in Edinburgh and now live in West Lothian.
More recently, In November 2014 I attended the two day course for PA’s at LCIL in Edinburgh, since that time I have had several jobs in that capacity and have gained very valuable experience.
I am a non-smoker, car driver/owner and have PVG membership.
My hobbies and interests include animals (caring for my gorgeous Bengal cat), music, TV, cooking, computing, ten-pin bowling, snooker, pool and a bit of gardening. I also occasionally help out with a dog-walking business.
I have worked for a very nice family with four children as a Housekeeper / Nanny, the two boys were on the Autistic Spectrum. As I enjoyed that work so much I decided to register as a Nanny, I then helped a single Mum with childcare for her 11 year old son who has behavioural and emotional problems, but sadly after several weeks she could not afford to pay me.
Over a 1 year period I worked numerous shifts for a service in Edinburgh supporting individuals with addictions, mental illness and learning disabilities. There was a degree of criminal justice and challenging behaviour to this work, this was via an agency.
These past three months I have worked shifts for a company called care4u 24/7, whilst I very much enjoyed working with the clients this was a bad experience for me as twice I had cause to contact the Care Inspectorate and I handed in my notice.
I I'm have SSSC registration from Friday 16.3.18.
